Just finished A Head Full of Ghosts, and have just started Disappearance, just wanted to say that I really love your cinematic storytelling style. Wondered why we haven't seen trailers for the movies that almost certainly could (and should) be made of your books, or if they're on the way? Also, is it a deliberate choice to write cinematically or is it just a matter of it being your style of writing? Thanks!
Paul Tremblay
Hi, Brendan. Thank you for the reads and kind words. Focus Features is working on developing a movie version of A Head Full of Ghosts, but we're still more than a year away from anything coming out/happening (if it happens at all). Nothing on Devil's Rock.
I guess it's more of a function of my own writing style. There are plenty of interior moments in both books, but yeah, I spent quite a bit of time on setting and atmosphere. I think with a horror novel that's difficult to avoid.

Hi Paul, first off, you are my favorite new author. Head Full of Ghosts was my favorite but Devil's Rock and Cabin were fantastic as well. I am very much looking forward to seeing Head Full of Ghosts adapted for the screen but let's face it...I'm scared! How involved are you going to be with the process? What are the things that you refuse to deviate from, even if the studio wants to edit? Are you writing screenplay?

Hi, Paul, and thank you for accepting my friend request. After reading Ghosts and Disappearance, I think that you're my new favorite writer. I love the fluidity and honesty of your storytelling – how you get us to believe wholly and unequivocally. Question: Both of the above-mentioned books have children at the crux of the stories. Were these conscious decisions or intuitive "paths" that felt true for you to follow?
