Just finished A Head Full of Ghosts, and have just started Disappearance, just wanted to say that I really love your cinematic storytelling style. Wondered why we haven't seen trailers for the movies that almost certainly could (and should) be made of your books, or if they're on the way? Also, is it a deliberate choice to write cinematically or is it just a matter of it being your style of writing? Thanks!

Hi, Brendan. Thank you for the reads and kind words. Focus Features is working on developing a movie version of A Head Full of Ghosts, but we're still more than a year away from anything coming out/happening (if it happens at all). Nothing on Devil's Rock.
I guess it's more of a function of my own writing style. There are plenty of interior moments in both books, but yeah, I spent quite a bit of time on setting and atmosphere. I think with a horror novel that's difficult to avoid.

I read A Head Full of Ghosts last year and loved it. I'm running a library book club meeting about it on Wednesday night. You might not get this before then, and I know I'm late to the party with asking you about this book (because you have a new one out!), but I just read your io9 interview. Why you gotta hate on pickles, man? Also, I can't wait to see my book club devolve into arguments over what was going on.

Paul, I think I stalked you on GR right after a HFOG came out. Top 5 horror novel for me and easily my favorite of the last 15-20 years. The ambiguity left me aching to talk to it with people and it’s really amazing how split down the middle the readers are in feeling it was a tale of mental illness vs a story of demonic possession. That takes a very special writer to be able to walk that line. Oz Perkins?

I recently learned that I loved to write. Two of your books gave me the inspiration to start, Cabin at the End of the World and Growing Things. That being said how do you find the time to write while working a full time job? Do you feel that either of your careers suffers because you focus too much on one or the other? And finally how do you find the time to do anything other than write and plan for classes?
