No recipe here. Trying to think about a grabbing title that would best reflect the content of the book.
The first one instead of Rise of an Oligarch was supposed to be 'The Way It Is', but at the end we decided it was too plain and that's what the editor thought. It's only later I'd learnt that many people don't even know what the word 'oligarch' means.. Interestingly, Ben Mezrich used the same subtitle for his book released after ours..
'Mortal Showdown' and 'Be First or Be Dead' seemed perfectly reflecting what's happening in each book, so once they dawned on me they were no brainer
