One has nothing to do with the other—what’s the connection? It’s like taking a knife and cutting a person and then smiling at them. Is it worth the smile? There is no connection. Why should you suffer for it? What is this masochism? Okay, “masochism” may involve more pleasant situations. What is the connection? I don’t see any reason to suffer for a child’s smile.”
