“I know I’m not going to get everything I ask for, but I do know that if I don’t go out and try to get what I want, then the chances are nil that things will work out in my favor. It’s never easy to hear “no,” but I’ve learned not to think of it as a blow to my ego. It’s not personal if someone turns me down. There could be a slew of reasons why things don’t work out, and many have nothing to do with me personally. It might just be poor timing.”
