    "ناقة أَمُون: أمينة وثيقة الخلق.
    المعنى المحوري لهذا الجذر: وثاقة في الباطن.
    ومن ذلك الأَمْن ضد الخوف كأن الآمن تمكن في حِصْن، أو امتلأ قلبه امتلاء شديدا بما يُطَمْئِنه.
    "وءامنهم من خوف"
    "ءأمنتم من في السماء .."
    والأمانة: الوديعة التي تودع عن من يحفظها كأن معنى اسمها: التي ينبغي أن تُحْفَظَ في حرز أوثقَ الحِفْظ.
    وكأن اسم الله عز وجل (المؤمن) معناه: الحافظ لعباده المُؤَمِّن لهم من كل شر ونقص ظاهر وباطن أو الحفيظ عليهم.
    "الملك القدوس السلام المؤمن المهيمن"

    ومن ذلك "آمن بالشيء: صدّق"؛ أي قَبِل الكلام ووثق به فتمكن من قلبه.
    وآمن لـ ، يسمع منه ويسلم له ما يقول، مثل:
    "فما ءامن لموسى"
    " وما أنت بمؤمن لنا ولو كنا صادقين"
    وآمين معناها اللهم استجب.

    وقوله تعالى: "إنا عرضنا الأمانة على السماوات والأرض والجبال فأبين أن يحملنها وأشفقن منها وحملها الإنسان"
    فالأمانة هي التكليف والمسئولية عن التصرف؛ والمسئولية عن التصرف هي التي يتميز بها الإنسان وربما الجان أيضا عن سائر المخلوقات.”
