“The best part of the halftime show, in my opinion, was the grandpas on stage. And if that isn’t a bold enough statement for the haters and the critics, I don’t know what is. I get it—everyone has an opinion. The Christian community voiced theirs, and that’s their right. But let me tell you something from the Puerto Rican side of things: we are proud.
We are proud that Bad Bunny, one of our own, stood on one of the biggest stages in America and represented. He put us on the map in his own unapologetic way, and that matters. But what really got me? Seeing the grandpas—the abuelos—up there doing their thing. Because if the elders approve, if the golden heads are shining and smiling, then nothing the haters say holds any weight.
