Marimba Quotes

“Mistakes made in the down portion of the stroke are usually of the "Goodness me, I've gone and hit the wrong bloody note!" variety.”
― Leigh Howard Stevens, Method of Movement for Marimba

“The mistakes made in the up portion of the stroke fall into two basic categories: the "Foul invective! I seem to have strayed from the righteous path on the preparation. If I don't mend my ways forthwith, I'll soon tap the wrong slat." type, and the "Oh imminent impotence! I have pruned the recovery unripe. Now how shall I reap the fortissimo for which the audience verily drools?" brand.”
