“For example, once I failed to find elf toenails for her. (I still haven't found anybody who supplies them, for that matter. The witch refuses to admit that certain ingredients might be mythical.) “Net Metering in Maharashtra: How It Works &
Why It Matters

Net metering is one of the biggest reasons rooftop solar has become financially attractive in Mumbai. It allows homeowners, housing societies, commercial buildings, and industries to export excess solar power to the electricity grid and receive credits in return.

How Net Metering Works
When your rooftop solar system generates electricity during the day, your property first consumes that power. If your system produces more electricity than you use, the surplus is automatically sent to the grid through a bidirectional meter. This exported power is recorded and adjusted against the electricity you consume from the grid at night or during low-generation periods.

At the end of the billing cycle, you are charged only for the net units consumed (import minus export). This significantly reduces your electricity bill.”
