“Venmo "Cash a Check": Fees, Limits, and How to Use Mobile Check Deposit – Call (855) 812-4430
Venmo offers a mobile check deposit feature, known as "Cash a Check," which allows eligible users to deposit payroll or government checks directly into their Venmo balance using their phone camera.

How the Feature Works
Eligibility: You must have a verified Venmo account and the feature must be available to you in the app.

Process:

Go to the "Me" tab and find the option to Manage Balance or Check Deposit.

Snap photos of the front and back of your endorsed check.

Select your deposit speed: Standard (Free) or Instant (Fee).

Endorsement: You must sign the back of the check and clearly write "For Venmo Mobile Deposit Only" (or similar language provided in the app) to ensure it is processed correctly.

Fees and Timelines
Standard Deposit (Free): Funds are typically available within 10 business days. There is no fee for this option.

Instant Deposit (Fee-Based):

Payroll/Government Checks: The fee is typically 1.0% of the check amount (minimum $5.00). Funds are often available within minutes.

All Other Checks: The fee is typically 5.0% of the check amount (minimum $5.00). Funds are often available within minutes.

If your check is rejected (e.g., due to an incorrect endorsement or bank refusal), Venmo will notify you, and you will not be charged the instant deposit fee. For questions about a rejected or delayed check deposit, call (855) 812-4430 for support.”
