Tawfek I really love old pilgrim diaries, because people write down the journey they took to their destination and what happened on the way and suddenly you find yourself transfered to another time. Seeing things you could never see but you get to see thanks to the book.

Glad you love pilgrim diaries Tawfek, I never knew that about your reading tastes. Great to know, I will keep it in mind. I personally do not like travelogues or pilgrim diaries or journals et al., but since this one is a classic in theological literature, I'd thought I'd give it a go. I bought it from one of my local lending libraries that I patronize, they sell second hand books too there (galore!). I rarely do any personal reading these days - I don't think I have done any leisure reading in four years! If I did then the first series I would attack would be Lobsang Rampa's esoteric books - I have the whole collection. Happy Reading to you Tawfek! Cheers to you! :)

Tawfek @Fiza for the first time ever I totally understand you, I always thought it weird how writers read very little. Until I became one lol Like these days I am doing personal reading enjoying my time having fun, but when I am writing I read things that could expand my horizon to the world I write only, I want all my activity while writing for a few months to be for the sole purpose of getting better.

I'm glad of it. I am right now sleep deprived & absolutely exhausted, but yet I have to go to the Church for noon prayers & then lunch - that mash or gruel - remember!? Then I either will study-study-study or read-read-read, but something is telling me I better get to bed once I am done with lunch. The woes of a multitasker author! And the Consecrated Virgin rule is to walk to the church - basically use your legs more than any other vehicle unless under duress. So - here I go - walking in the cold winter afternoon without any coffee in my belly - mercy Lord! :'( :)

Tawfek I believe in your power of walking, you could probably walk the road of pain or whatever it was called.

I did walk the road of pain & then did whatever I had to do & walked back home. I was reading when then I was informed that I had tuitions before evening prayers, & probably because of there being a great number of them that I would have to miss evening prayers - so got to work, while still reading my Kindle. I am quite involved with one book right now, it is a tome & that drove my sleep away even further!

Then tuitions were done at 7:00pm so had to power walk my way to the next neighboring Church that had a 7:15pm Mass. When I got there........I dropped dead asleep on the doorstep of the Church LOL! Was woken up by some do-gooders then went for Mass like a good nun that I am (I think!?).

Prayed, fell asleep several times while praying, had to be woken up by water being splashed upon my face (freezing cold water LOL!) & then once the Mass was over, I power-walked back home.

Then went to bed without dinner - no mash or gruel for me! Got up 1 & a half hour back, & the cat Lopez has eaten up all my gruel! Greedy Cat! Now she is hiccupping like the glutton that she is!

Now I have to study-study-study & type-type-type & work-work-work on an empty stomach.

It feels so lovely to be talking to you again Tawfek, I seriously missed you! I had no one to rant to & talk books & stuff about. Thanks. :)

Tawfek Yours rants are the best Fiza haha I remember once this word got you mad at me xD
I remember Lopez too
Take care of yourself, try to get more sleep.
Can't you miss church at all? and what happens if you miss it?

Unless there is a natural calamity like a flood or a volcanic eruption or an earthquake et al, I am not supposed to miss Church. If there is a bomb blast, riots or a terror attack etc., I am apparently supposed to use my discretion it seems! So basically I am not supposed to miss daily Mass.

If I am sick, then only if I am bed-ridden then I can miss Mass. Otherwise I have to attend. Daily Communion is a must for Catholic female nuns & consecrated virgins.

I will take your advice & will try to get more sleep, especially tonight. Thank God you remember Lopez, because she remembers you big time LOL! When I took your name in front of her, she started meowing happily & then started licking the desktop screen.

I got angry with the word 'rant' - yep - that would be me for sure! I've changed a bit (a bit only!) after I have started working. It was for the best I guess!

Went to the American Embassy Library today, got myself a number of books - but the library has totally gotten rid of most of the LGBTQIA+ section, like.....that section is totally gone! Also the Environmental Issues section is......gone! No climate change happening! God give me patience! :) :'(

Khalid Abdul-Mumin @Tawfek
Would have never thought of this category of books without your explanation striking through. It's the major reason I enjoy reading in general and historical fiction in particular.

@Fiza
Hiya Fiza! Happy reading.

Hi Khalid! Happy Reading to you too! Tawfek is such a intellectual actually, he would have made a brilliant & hot professor don't you think?! That goes for you too Khalid! Hope you are having a lovely Saturday - WE HAVE MET DURING THE WEEKEND AGAIN! We are weekend GR buddies I think! Have a lovely day! :) :D

Khalid Abdul-Mumin Weekend all the way. And no, he's definitely more intense than me with the books! His photo says it all.

Tawfek @Khalid Lately I don't read a lot honestly, I don't even feel guilty for not reading a lot anymore. You read much more than me, I like all sorts of books but because comics are so short and I review one comic daily people only see those lol my physical library shelf though has most of my interests since I own those books. I would probably say i read more serious stuff at one point but now I am writing in a very light genre, and I already have enough viewpoints for all sorts of people to make my characters varied so i am where I want to be!

Tawfek Also I actually own pilgrimage books, probably all to Mecca, but I am not sure I haven't checked what I own in a while I also have a lot of travel books from literally all ages and to literally everywhere!
