I'm surprised that I haven't seen this before. I love books where the hero isn't necessarily a strong man working at the front line of the army. I also love stories where the hero isn't always completely heroic.
I really liked the whole series. Unfortunately , I don't think all the books are translated into English yet (I read them in Polish). I hope you enjoy this one though.

There are 5 books in The Witcher saga, and a few short story ones. The Blood of Elves is the first book of the saga, whereas The Last Wish is considered to be a prequel. A shame not all the books are translated- it's a good series.
