I have read it. It is set in western North Carolina. Thomas Wolfe is one of our greatest writers, and his books are magnificent.

If you like book and museum type stuff, we have a Thomas Wolfe memorial here in downtown Asheville. I got to see it for free in my early twenties because one of the docents had a crush on me. :)
