ALL of the magiford books are good, they're set in the same world with a big overlaying plot, I recommended them in the best reading order with this one first and the gate of myth and power last
oh, and all the magiford books are on kindle unlimited. most of the books I recommend are, or at least they were upon the time of me reading them
