I have actually read the Dark Materials books and thought they were fantastic. Thank you for that - know any more? Through my own searches I have also found the Valdemar books by Mercedes Lackey.
I have also read the Kristen Britain Green Rider books which were really good - not quite in this category but still good.
Well, beyond what you've already read/found I'm drawing nothing but blanks, so I'm glad you're managing to find some others on your own! :)
