Anne I have that one but never read it, it looks soooo good! Exactly what I love! I don't know the hell I'm waiting for?!?

Tweety I don't know why you are waiting either. It wonderful! There is a good movie adaption of it with Jane Seymour. The movie is actually The Scarlet Pimpernel and El Dorado: Further Adventures of the Scarlet Pimpernel. Which is another good book. :-)

Anne Awesome!! :) I will watch after I read! I love knowing there's a good movie waiting after I read a book!

Tweety Me too!
And it's not violent like the 1999 version. When/If you see it I'd love to hear whether you liked it. :-)

Anne Ok I will let you know :)

message 6: by Jaima (new)

Jaima I was going to recommend this one too. I also liked the prequel, The Laughing Cavalier

Anne I didn't know there was a prequel!! Do they need to be read in order?

message 8: by Jaima (new)

Jaima I don't thinks so. There's a significant time/generation gap between the books and I don't think any of the same characters, though it is about the Blakeney family. Like jumping from these old shades to an infamous army.

Tweety No, they don't need to be in order. I started with this one and El Dorado, now I'm reading all the others in order because the first one that is in croncicological order,( SP's grandfather) is written expecting you to already know the Scarlet Pimpernel and has another coming right after it that is the further doings of The Laughing Caviler, which is the first. ;)

Tweety, is that The First Sir Percy? I tried to find a copy years ago (before kindle) but couldn't. Now I see there is an ebook for it on amazon. Have you read it? Do you like it?

Tweety Yes! Thanks, I'd forgotten the title. I had that problem too, even now I would prefer the hardbacks, just for the pleasure of seeing them lined up. :)

Here's the order if you want it, I got it from Wikipedia and so far it's been accurate, but I haven't finished. :)

The Laughing Cavalier

The First Sir Percy

The Scarlet Pimpernel

Sir Percy Leads the Band

The League Of The Scarlet Pimpernel

I Will Repay

The Elusive Pimpernel

Lord Tony's Wife

The Way of the Scarlet Pimpernel

El Dorado: Further Adventures of the Scarlet Pimpernel January 1794 unclear whether before, after, or concurrent with Mam'zelle Guillotine

Mam'zelle Guillotine

Sir Percy Hits Back

The Adventures of the Scarlet Pimpernel

The Triumph of the Scarlet Pimpernel

A Child of the Revolution

Pimpernel and Rosemary
