You may give MARSHA CANHAM a try. I loved her books! Such as DARK MIST,THE SHADOW
AT MIDNIGHT and THE LAST ARROW...or her
other trio THE PRIDE OF LIONS,THE BLOOD
ROSES and THE MIDNIGHT HONOR. Both series were quite good and a lot of fun!
"The Sunne in Splendour" and "When Christ and His Saints Slept" by Sharon Kay Penman, (or anyhing else by her,but I'd start with one of those two.)The first one is about Edward IV and Richard III & the second one is about the war over the english succession between Henry I's daughter,Maude & her cousin, Stephen I. They're both excellent & I think you'd really enjoy them.

The following link contains a number of historical novels that are SIMPLY AMAZING. To date, I've read all except for the latest 2 novels in the series.

In a word, "Yes", they are that good. Smile. I began reading the novels from the Morland Dynasty Series about 7 years ago. The characters and storylines through the generations are so utterly compelling. You will NOT be disappointed.
