My recommendation is "Room 702" by Paloma Ainsa. It's a beautiful and funny story with engaging characters similar to Notting Hill. I couldn't put it down and I finished it in just a few hours. Not cheesy, typical or predictable at all. It was a great surprise and I felt like I was leaving my friends behind.
