Hi! I would recommend trying the "Green Rider" series by Kristen Britain - I'm a HUGE fan of the first book, and the others are quite good as well. I would say that it is pretty fast paced, and there is no mention as to what time period the books are supposed to be set. Suffice to say that folks still travel on horseback, lol. Excellent series though.
