Alana It depends on what your goals are and how much work you want to do to get there. Traditional publishers are still a very viable option, but smaller publishers or self-publishing have been gaining traction, though these latter two are better for something that serves a more niche audience than a widespread one. Also a warning on the self-publishing route: you are ultimately responsible for pretty much everything and this means a lot of time that could be spent on writing more books is spent on something else.
And a side note: if you don't listen to Writing Excuses yet, that podcast is full of advice on both the writing and publishing side of things, and I highly recommend it (writingexcuses.com)

Book Hub Hey Jazz, we're a mid-sized eBook publishing company looking for new authors. If you're interested in submitting your work for publication consideration, I encourage you to find out more at www.book-hub.com. Thanks!
