Ratings are very subjective, your book may have won awards but I might not like it; conversely, I may be the only person in the universe who LOVES your book.
What do I look for? Good writing, originality, good story, imagination, good characterization and dialogue. I prefer books that are under 400 pages, not an absolute rule, life is short, don't hog all the reading time.
