I read on average 2-3 books per week.
*** ABOUT MY BOOK RATINGS *** 5 stars means that I loved the book and would probably read it again and again -- it has to be a book that I put on my beloved bookcase.
4 stars means that I really enjoyed the book and thought it was really good -- its usually one that I would recommend and pass along to friends and family but unlikely to re-read.
3 stars means that I enjoyed the book and thought it was very well done. It usually means that I had parts of the books that I love - and areas that did not fully grab me. Everyone's opinion is different hey!
2 stars means that the book didn't grab me. This does not mean I dislike the author - as I have rated some of my favourite authors other works as a 2, and then rated other works by them as a 5. It can also mean that I read the book at the wrong time (eg better suited to times when I have less stress etc)
1 star - very rare that I give this. It just means the book was not for me. I do not take anything away from the fact that others may love the book. It is nothing personal to the author.
