I came to this website liking: "The Long Way to a Small and Angry Planet", "The Expanse" and "Goblin Emperor". From the last recommendations batch: (1) A Memory Called Empire (Teixcalaan #1) - I think this book was weak and not entertaining; (2) Red I came to this website liking: "The Long Way to a Small and Angry Planet", "The Expanse" and "Goblin Emperor". From the last recommendations batch: (1) A Memory Called Empire (Teixcalaan #1) - I think this book was weak and not entertaining; (2) Red Rising (Red Rising Saga, #1) and almost entirety of all 5 books was brilliant and what is very important for me the plot lead to unexpected outcomes (I would put this book right among the top three books from the beginning of this post, I enjoyed it very much); (3) The Stars Are Legion - well this book was too weird for me but I must say that I enjoyed some parts of it, like the journey back to the surface. (4) Fortune's Pawn (Paradox #1) - it is too much love affairs centered for my taste but overall interesting things started to happen eventually and it was far from boring.
Now to the point I didn't read `Ascension (Tangled Axon, #1)` yet and the last book of `Paradox` trilogy because I listen to the books faster than I read them if it makes sense because I can multitask (work) while I am doing so. I will surely finish reading all the previous recommendations though but not at this pace :). Therefore, I would prefer if the books from the next batch would be in audiobook version as well but it is not mandatory (if the book is good I am gonna read it anyway).
When you recommend books keep in mind that they don't have to be in space or in some fantasy kingdom, if the book is good thats all that matters. The only time when I won't read the book is when it describes any form of immorality against foxes (and for the record I scan the content before buying a book). ...more
