5 ☆ => absolutely incredible. the book stays with me for a really long time. original/impressive idea. it made me feel strong emotions. I was excited to pick it up and keep on reading.
4 ☆ => great/solid. I liked it, with the exception of a few minor things that bothered me. it managed to eventually catch my attention, but it didn't have it at the start. overall, enjoyable.
3 ☆ => good. I almost didn't like it. either the story was boring or it was totally unoriginal. several things bothered me. it wasn't impressive.
2 ☆ => meh. barely any redeemable qualities. main emotion while reading: annoyance.
1 ☆ => bad. it was so horrible that I dnf-ed.
