I write the kind of books I grew up loving — frontier grit, dark secrets, and people who refuse to quit when everything goes sideways. Born in Tennessee, raised on science fiction and fairy tales, hardened by decades in law enforcement before my work took me north to Alaska, where I now serve communities across the Interior.
When I'm not writing, I'm usually reading old pulp sci-fi, studying the giants of the genre, or walking under a sky that never quite decides whether to be light or dark.
