5 stars = excellent, a must-read. A masterful example of genre, style and themes. 4 stars = very very good. Some minor flaws or problems keep it out of 5 star territory. 3 stars = average. A perfectly good book, not great, not terrible. 2 stars = poor. Some good moments, but ultimately only worthwhile to the truly dedicated fan.. 1 star = dreadful.
