I was born in Birmingham, England. I spent several years of my childhood growing up in my ancestral village in Bangladesh.
I studied at the University of Exeter, where I earned a Masters in Film History.
My debut novel, Broken Paths, was awarded a grant by the Arts Council, England and was the winner of the 2009 Muslim Writers Award for Best Unpublished Novel.
My writing (fiction) has also been published in the Critical Muslim.
I am currently working on his second novel called Disinherited.
