I really loved it because it was so different and it wasn't so cliche that you knew exactly what was going to happen.
The metaphor behind Esme was awesome too. She was so crazed over what's "in" and then she ended up burning to death.
Learn, children, learn. Don't... wear bikini's made of lettuce.

I liked the fact that it wasn't all happy go lucky in the end where the children would find their parents. I loved it. It wasn't as quite as predictable as some of the other books I have read and that made it all the more enjoyable. Violet was my favorite character in the series, since she had the sort of the Leonardo Da Vinci personality: inventing things. Klaus was my second favorite character, seeing he was quite bookish and awkward...:). But my third favorite character might shock you....it's Count Olaf. I don't know the reason why, but every time he comes into the book, I just break out into a smile...he's adorable for me...
Agreed Wise, i hate those cookie cutter endings.
How come elizabeth?
How come elizabeth?

How come elizabeth?"
Oh. Just noticed this... I don't really remember...it was in like 6th grade for me...
I rather liked this series because it wasn't all happy romance. It was something different. Something a tad darker, with not much of a happy ending, which made it good. There was the lingering threat of something bad washing up on the island.
It was a rather good series, I thought. Maybe its not as advanced of writing as Eragon persay, but I say it was just as good, in its own way. :'3
