If something strikes you while reading, a quote an idea, please share.

Additionally, once you've finished please record any general impressions or thoughts on the book. You can also use this space for post-discussion reflections. If you haven't finished the book yet be warned, there probably are spoilers!

Michelle (michelletm) Is it weird that I have a song for everything? Maybe. But here is one that reminds me of the Night Circus!

I'm a little over 20% through this and so far so good. I'm really enjoying the way the chapters are organized: short, non-linear, different characters.

Is it weird I had dreams about this book?

Natalie Nash | 48 comments I did too, only it would mixed in with regular life things. So strange.

I finished this last night. The ending is sooooo predictable! It's like a train coming down the tracks with whistles blaring. Also, I get frustrated when I think a book is over, then I turn the page expecting to see the Acknowledgments, only to have more to read.

There were some good messages embedded in the story, especially at the end when Bailey says that he is no one special, why does he have to save the circus. Then Celia replies with something like being special isn't preordained, it's about stepping up when the moment calls for it.

Did anyone LOVE this?

Will | 8 comments Ryan, If you'd come last night you would have heard that the answer was no. We missed you... Fact!!!! ;-)

message 8: by Rochelle (new)

Rochelle Reynard | 1 comments I would give this book 3 stars. Not every book needs to be as eloquently written and profound as Tolkein's "The Lord of the Rings" or Joyce's "Ulysses". This book is the type where you read solely for an escape and to relax. However, the fact that it seems that it didn't go through the revising stage cannot be ignored.

There isn't a rising climax, a climax, a reslolution, and a conclusion. It seems like Erin just wanted to describe specific tents in a circus, but the editors compelled her to put in a story line, then the storyline, with its conflict was slopped in. I believe if you read from the eprspective that the book is taking you through the circus, you can appreciate it, but if you are reading from an intellectual's perspective, then yeah...you might think its a bigger waste of time and brain cells than watching vampires rip eachother up and fall in love.

Will | 8 comments I agree, totally, Rochelle... ;-)
