This is just a short little walk from the beach away from the waves and water. It is still windy and you can still hear the crashing of the waves making you remember your still stranded. The Hill is a great place to have little meetings or try to sort things out with your fellow 'friends' who are also on the island with you.

Malachi took in a deep breath filling his lungs with the slightly salty air he wasn't used to this,in the backwoods of Arkansas there were no beaches. The new air was different and alien to him at first it overwhelmed his lungs but he had started to get used to it. He couldn't help but have this thought slip into his headYeah,you better get used to it may be here a while Malachi then shook the thought away and looked around it was already dark but he could still see the remaining sunlight. When the sun went down it was over they wouldn't be able to see anything so maybe they should make a fire. Yeah a fire was there best bet he didn't want to waste anymore time "Alright we need to collect some pieces of wood and sticks. Is anyone good at making fires? Because I'm not.." he said with a shrug. He started tick collect pieces of dry drift wood for the fire putting it into a pile.

James let go of Jim's hand and bent down to help Malachi gather firewood. When his arms were full he trotted up to Malachi and looked up at him. "What do I do with all of this?" He asked sweetly as he smiled. "I don't like the dark." James added quietly looking at the lowering sun.

Malachi looked up at him as he was arranging the pieces of wood in a way it would burn properly. He saw the good amount of firewood and smiled "Good I underestimated you,your a good worker. Here just give them to me" he took the pieces of wood and put them on the stack of wood that was going to burn. "Hopefully that lasts for a while..." he murmured then nodded in agreement "Yeah the dark ain't to pleasant I'd rather be able to see then be surrounded in darkness"

Molly had decided to follow the three other people. She hid out of there line of sight as she didn't know or trust them. She bit her lip as it was getting dark and would be getting cold soon. Maybe i'll feel the fire over here She thought and desperately hoped she would. Slowly Mollys eyes began to droop and soon she fell asleep in her little hiding spot.

James nodded to Malachi in agreement. "I'm going to go get a little more." He said biting his lower lip. "quickly though." He plodded around on the hill, looking under trees and bushes and shrubs for any wood that could be used. He came back with another armload and set it by his first. "All done now." He said and plopped down. "I'm tired."

Malachi crouched down arranging the dry wood in a a rather large stack where it would burn the best way. He was a bit worried about the wind and if it blew out there fire but he stayed positive. He then picked up clumps of dead moss around him and put it,in one fist. They would have to light the moss and put it on the wood that was the best way to do it. "Yeah I'm tired too...but we have to do this first. Anyone know how to get fire sparks from rocks? I can't do that.."

Selena sighed softly putting her hand through her hair and letting her hands dig right into her jenas pockets. She looked around seeing it was only the four of them. She kind of felt either really nervous or just plain old scared. Maybe her nerves were getting to her. It seemed like this island wouldn't stop getting more scarier by the mintue. She put her hood on feeling cold or maybe it was just her. She didn't know but felt this island had more than meets the eye and it seemd either her alone or with help she was going to find out why it felt so supicious. Selena thought that maybe her parents wanted to dump her here after how the big fight they had last night or even how the history was among them. It seemed only two guys and another girl. Shouldn't be there more people here? She thought. Or maybe its mind being weird. But I know their were more people here. I know so. I'm just going to face it and say my mind is completely crazy she thought and sighed deeply letting her frustration and anything else she felt go away. When she heard the guy or the leader she thought of the group. Malachi was his name she thought. Or something with an m. That was all she knew so far but heard him speaking and shrugged knowing already how to do so."I know so. It's rather simple. But only to people who know it. Not trying to be mean and all. I'll get the rocks and I guess either you or him can get the wood." She asked sounding almost way to quiet from nervousness or scared she thought yet again.

Molly opened her eyes and watched the girl. She seems trustworthy Molly thought as a cold wind picked up making her shiver. Please let there fire be warm enough for me to feel She thought desperately. After moving slightly so she was a bit warmer Molly yawned quietly. She covered her mouth and hoped the people she was spying on didn't hear her.

Jim leaned against the trunk of some tree unknown to him, away from the others. He wondering if he should go off on his own. Sure, it was dangerous and he'd probably run into many more obstacles, but all his life he'd wonder what it'd be like to run away into the woods or the jungle and live alone, completely free. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. No, that could never work. Well, not never. Just not yet. For now he needed to stick around. At least until he knew more about survival and the island itself.

James stood up from where he was sitting and stumbled over to Jim. "Why are you so far away?" He asked sweetly grabbing Jim's hand. "Come over and help make the fire." James began pulling Jim towards where Malachi was standing. "Come on come on." He pleaded.

Molly bit her lip those boys were close to where she was hiding. She let out a breath when the younger of the pair began pulling the older one away. They didn't see me thats good She thought with a sigh. After they go to sleep i'll leave She thought and watched with much more intrest.

Calvin walked up the hill. Darkness was falling. He could make out a fire with three or four people around it. Another girl stood some distance away, hidden in the shadows. Calvin didn't have the motivation or time to investigate. "Hello!?" He called out to the people. They were all around his age.

Molly looked straight at Calvin. She decided to go meet him and possibly team up with the boy. Molly stood and left her hiding spot and hurried over to Calvin "Hello" She said simply as if it bothered her to talk. She watched to see his reaction to her before talking to him more.

another girl. this was the one in the shadows. More girls have talked to Calvin today than in the rest of his life. the thought made him feel...strange. Calvin was about business, not socializing. "Hello. let me guess, you woke up on this island too?" It was strange how easy acceptance of this new situation was settling in. It felt unnatural.

Molly nodded "One minute I'm at home with my little brothers the next I wake up here" She told Calvin which suprised her as she didn;t even know this boy and now she is telling him about her little brothers. "I'm Molly" She added after a moment. She figured it was important for him to know her name at least.

"I'm Cal-" It occurred to him that giving away personal information to strangers on an island might not be the best idea. "Lee. Lee Everett." He figured that none of them would know the 2010 tetris world champion Lee Everett. the fake name would do for now. Perhaps later, he might tell them his real one. "Yeah. Strange whats happening."

Selena stood and watched calvin and molly talk. She felt that this girl wasn't wanting to talk. She didn't seem talktative when she first saw her. Maybe because its a guy. Figures as much. Or just wants to be friendly. She thought."Hey aren't you the girl who was hiding in the cave awhile ago? Srry to be mean or rude but what was up with it? I mean I know what's it like to be scared or anything. I truly do but none of us bite. I guess you just finally got to talking to us though." She said to molly simply and smiling to her giving her a kind gesture.

Molly turned to look at Selena "I didn't think anyone would see me" Molly answered before turning back to Calvin "You were the tetris world champion 2 years ago right?" She asked and hoped it didn't sound to weird. Heck,the only reason she knew is because she is a closet tetris lover.

Selena nodded."Oh I guess I saw. It didn't do much it seemed. Well its nice to meet you molly I'm selena and I guess all three of us are new. Did he just no it couldn't be." She thought. Selena didn't want to say it to but she like molly loved it to. It would probably sound like she was copying molly. But she was a die hard tetris lover. Playing it ever since she was six."Oh I haven't heard that name in ages. Tetris is well wonderful and more good then anyone imagines." She said sweetly.

Molly smiled widely "I know right I've been playing myself for like 2 years now" She told Selena and laughed in spite of herself. "I didn't think many others liked it" She added kindly. It was a nice way to ignore the twins She thought but would never say it out loud. She was supposed to love her brothers.

oh are you kidding me. NOW he meets girls who are impressed by tetris skills. Calvin hoped they wouldnt remember that Lee Everett was black. He quickly changed the subject. "So who are those people over there? anyone you know?" Tetris. freaking tetris.

Malachi has he was trying to work on the fire looked up at the people just standing there talking. "Excuse me could you guys maybe help with this fire it won't be funny when were all freezing" he said sounding annoyed. "If we want to get stuff done lets try to actually do something productive. Now does anyone know how to light this fire? I have everything ready just don't know how to spark a flame" he realized he may sound a bit mean and grimaced he didn't want to make enemies at least not now. But he couldn't just let people stand around and talk calmly.

Selena laughed and nodded to molly."Molly you are defintely right. Wow that long. I started back when I was six and playing ever since. But I do have to agree with you at not a whole lot of people do like it." She said softly. Looking back at her and the guy smiling."Well obviously were all trying to figure those people out to." She said.

Malachi sighed "Well maybe we could sit and chat when we know we will have a warm far for light and warmth. It's not very smart to just keep talking we can talk much more later maybe we should get situated. Make sense?" he said back a bit annoyed. He really just wanted to get situated not wanting to talk at the moment until he was ready too he knew all there stories of ending up here where the same. If only they would listen...

Selena looked around seieng the guy."Sorry. Just trying to be friendly. Guess were all scared and were not sure exactly what to do. Maybe lee knows how to make a fire." She offered and tried to be kind to malachi understanding why felt like that.

Calvin took a few seconds to respond to "lee". "huh? what? oh yeah. totally." immediately regretting saying that. He didn't have the first clue of how to start a fire. He bent down awkwardly and took a stick in each hand. He rubbed them together. Nothing. "hmm. strange. it usually works. it must be the wrong type of wood." Calvin, what are you doing. He said to himself.

Malachi looked up at Calvin with an odd look he didn't seem like a kid to be outdoors making fires here and there. No not the kind of kid at all...but he told himself not to judge. Heck,for all Malachi knew Calvin could be the best fire builder on the planet. So he just watched him rubbing the pieces of wood together. "You some Boy Scouts or something? Where did you learn your skills? Hmmm yeah maybe its the wrong wood..." he said starting at Calvin.

"oh yeah. boy scouts. I got all the badges. yeah this is definitely not the right wood. lets...try again later." Calvin said, avoiding eye contact. A Matsumo would go great lengths to save their pride. At least they seemed to be buying it.

Malachi raised his eyebrow slightly Calvin seemed to be talking to fast seeming to want to get it over with. "Cool,what Scout Troop? I never got to be in Boyscouts, no troops where I grew up..my dad wouldn't want me going there anyway. But maybe your skills will come in handy later yeah they defiantly will" he smiled warmly at Calvin.

"uh, wolf scouts...505...its pretty obscure." Calvin prayed that made sense. "So who are you again?" He asked, desperate to change the subject. What have I gotten myself into, he thought to himself.

James looked at the boy trying to make a fire. "You look weird doing that." He said frowning. "But maybe it actually works. Are you sure you know what you are doing?" His frown turned into a sweet little boy smile.

Mordecia just nodded at Calvin as he talked he really didn't care much about what boy scouts he was in as long as he could help. Hell any skill seemed resourceful to have at the moment he just was horrible at making fires..He was fine with setting up but when it came to the most crucial part he was stumped if only someone had a lighter of something... He sighed "Oh I'm Mordecia Deebs nice to meet you..ummm.." Mordeica had forgotten his name. "Whats your name again?"

Selena looked at calvin and laughed softly."Calvin that's not how tou make a fire. Here let me show you." She said with a smile and took the branches from his hand and got a rock. She took the rock and rubbed it against the tree branches and rubbed it more and made a fire. She smiled at how well she did. I sometimes wonder how i amaze myself."Your going to owe me for saving your butt. Now just help me get some more branches to make the fire last longer." She whispered to calvin so he could hear alone.

Molly watched them all for a couple minutes. She finally turned her back on them and stared at the sky. They all seem to be doing okay without me She thought and decided to walk away. Besides it seemed like they didn't need her to help them,she'd only get in the way.

Mordecai watched her in awe feeling a bit stupid he wasn't able to do that but he couldn't help but look at her now with a respect. He grinned and laughed a little "Wow! That's great I'm glad we have a girl in the group who knows how to make a fire" he then looked at Calvin with a smile "Looks like your Boy Scouts didn't so much for you eh?" he said in a bit of a teasing way. But then he got up and got more pieces of wood so they could keep the fire alive through the night. He was already suspecting Calvin wasn't the Boy Scouts he had claimed to be but he really didn't care.

Selena laughed some and blushed small."W-why than you. I learned from my father. It seems some boys don't know how to do the hard work. Guess I'll take that job upon myself." She said with a sly grin. She felt so much happier that she was getting acknowledged and getting respect. See selena your attiutde and knowledge of skills are paying off. Never saw or figured it would happen would you? She thought. She giggled at the sound of the thought."It seems like his boy scouts do nothing compared to my girl scout skills.' She said with a giggle."And who are you may I ask?" She asked looking at mordecai now tih a playful grin.

wow. well then. Calvin just got showed up. By that same girl from the beach. "heh, well. guess it was the right wood." Calvin figured he should shut up by now. But, of course he didn't. "Not bad. I could teach you a few things. I'm kind of a fire starting expert myself." He hastily changed the subject before anyone could respond. "so does anyone have any food? or know where we are?"

Selena looked at him."Calvin are you just jealous now? Maybe the right wood or just maybe you knew a thing or two. I'll let you take the credit to. And what would you teach me? I would so love to know." She said with a playful grin. It seemed calvin was the first who was rather kind and was more helpful to her than any other she ever met.

Malachi brought back a rather small bundle of wood and put it to the side seeing there small fire at first grow. "I think this fire will be good for tonight...then we can explore more around here. Maybe tomorrow we can get a better idea of where we are. But at the moment I have no honest idea" he sighed starting at the fire for a moment hearing it crackle and pop. He then shook his head "Nope no food..shoot...I should have thought of that" he just realized how thirsty he was his throat felt scratchy. He then smiled at Selena "Oh my name is Malachi Deebs,I think I'm gonna look for water" if they had to they could live for a little while without food.

Molly sat at the bottom of the hill near the sand. She could hear the fire begin to crackle and burn. She sighed as she pulled her knees up to her chin. She rested her chin on her knees and watched the water slowly move. She silently wished she could be home and be able to tell her parents and little brothers that she really did love them. Tears slowly began to fall down Mollys face silently.

Selena laughed softly smiling at malachi. She meant the other guy but he could do. No har done with knowing more than one guy. Without them she would lose her fun right? Or maybe just her mind."Nice to meet you malachi. A very interesting name. I seem to be seeing you are the head of our pact. I'm selena. I just wonder who was the guy saying about the boy scouts. Seems like he knows a thing or two." She meant mordecai but couldn't help but laugh softly.

Malachi reddened a little and looked down a bit at the ground "Yeah my Ma didn't like run of the mill names she liked...different names..or that's what my Pop said. Oh well..I'm just trying to bring some direction here,it's important to keep order you know? But thank you kindly Selena" he winked at her with a smile. He then answered the question she seemed to have on her mind "His name is Calvin and its great to see you both know a thing or two about that stuff. But I think I'm gonna try to find a source of water..and maybe food" he looked towards the jungle near them wondering if he would find what he needed with ease.

Selena laughed softly nodding."Well that just makes you unqiue malachi. Never know at times. I truly do think so."She said with a smile."But of course your very welcome. And I can tell that so about him."She said slightly looking at calvin blushing slightly.

Malachi smiled at her "Well it was very nice to meet you Selena I feel like its gonna be a good idea to go look for some water and some food. SO we know where everything is. So if you will excuse me Selena and Calvin I'm gonna go" he smiled at both of them and started walking towards the jungle determined to find sources of food and water. He still felt good that people recognized him as a leader.

Selena smiled small."The very same to you to malachi. I'll see you later then. Good luck and many more suit you to find some water."She said with a grin. Well there goes one person she thought and sighed. I feel like if I stay here longer it might make it worse. Or not. She thought. She didn't know what to do at all. It just seemed worse or something like that. Maybe calvin could make her feel better. She truly didn't know.

Ashton Maxwell Charigton had his head rested in his hands as he sighed he was sitting on a rather big log. He was trying to go over what had happened here it all was confusing and didn't make sense. He then looked up with a sigh maybe he should try to get his mind off things like...he then saw Selena. Being as he was he couldn't help but check the girl out he always did that. He felt better already and smiled charmingly "Weird day huh?" he said to Selena. Not his best pick up line but hey it worked.

James sat silently staring at the fire. Then jumped up and ran after Malachi. "Can I help?" He asked looking up at him with his dark eyes. "I am good at finding food. In a house though. I've never tried finding food outside."

Selena giggled smiling up at him."Weird day might be right. Maybe even a bit hectic or crazy."She said almost sounding innocently. Maybe it isn't a bad day afterall she thought. It seems I always get lucky she thought. Guys wanting to talk to me twenty four/seven. She flashed a smirk and sat down next to her tucking a piece of her hair that got loose behind her hair."And who are you might I ask? You seem rather interesting." She said with a sly grin spreading across her face.

Malachi as he was leaving turned around hearing something behind him he turned around to see the small James he thought for a moment. He didn't know if the jungle was dangerous or not but by the look on James little face he didn't want to turn him down. He smiled and laughed "I bet your pretty good at finding food. Maybe we will find giant refrigeration in the jungle. But sure you can come you will probably help" he smiled a little and kept walking with James.
