Great reviews, Sam, thanks! I love the Berlie Doherty book. She has gone back to different versions of the stories- the German version of Cinderella (Aschenputtel) doesn't have the fairy godmother, while the French version (Cendrillon) does.

Thank you Alma! I saw a Secondary school boy on the tube today reading Escape From Shangri La. He was so absorbed he nearly missed his stop! Michael Morpurgo is a great writer. I recently found A Dog Called Homeless in a charity shop; it is recommended for fans of Morpurgo.

Fantastic review, Sam! I've really enjoyed David Walliams' Mr Stink, The Boy in the Dress and Gangsta Granny. They're great. I recommend You're A Bad Man, Mr. Gum! and Operation Bunny if you enjoy David Walliams.
