This is the profile: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... (Sorry, had a glitch when I tried to post original post the first time, lost it, and had to retype--forgetting that important link.)
I'll work on this on and off as I get time. So far I've disambigged Jeremy^^Taylor the Unitarian Universalist who writes on spirituality/dreams.
Hello Abigail, lafonI've disambigged Jeremy^^^Taylor, the minister of the Church of England in the 1600s.
There is this one book I think is by him too, but I'm not sure, so I left it on the Jeremy^Taylor profile:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/78...
Maybe someone else can have a look at it?
I've also disambigged Jeremy^^^^Taylor (travel & non-fiction), Jeremy^^^^^Taylor (Archaeologist), Jeremy^^^^^^Taylor (fiction & languages) and Jeremy^^^^^^^Taylor (musician)
Hi Koenraad,I was able to discover that you are correct that Sacred prolusions should go with 1600s CoE Jeremy Taylor :
http://books.google.co.nz/books/about...
Ditto The marriage ring;
http://books.google.com/books/about/T...
and Readings for every day in Lent
http://books.google.com/books?id=RzoP...
Mindful Dreaming should go with spirituality and dreams Jeremy Taylor (he wrote the foreword).http://books.google.com/books?id=v8WE...
Ditto Dreaming in Christianity and Islam (also lists as editor both Patricia M. Davis and Patricia Davis--should be just Patricia M. Davis)
http://books.google.com/books?id=EfMk...
Secrets of Ilumina With Poster has still another Jeremy Taylor as an author, but more accurately he should be listed as "Jeremy P. Taylor." See front matter here: http://books.google.com/books?id=wXWN...
There are altogether too many Jeremy Taylors, haha! Author bio on a publisher's page for one of the books verifies that these books on trains and railroads are by the same author, who is a separate Jeremy/Jerry Taylor:Conrail Commodities, cover has author as Jeremy Taylor, and currently listed on Goodreads under profile Jeremy Taylor (I think it's Jeremy^Taylor): http://www.goodreads.com/author/list/...
All of his other books, according to cover photos or publisher's pages (<--that page also has a longer author bio) are listed as being by Jerry Taylor.
The CSX Clinchfield Route in the 21st Century, cover has author as Jerry Taylor, but currently listed on Goodreads under profile Jeremy^Taylor http://www.goodreads.com/author/list/...
The Csx Clinchfield Route in the 21st Century, cover also lists author Jerry Taylor, but this edition is filed on Goodreads under author profile Jerry Taylor (which to get even more confusing has more than one author named Jerry Taylor with books on that profile)
A Sampling of Penn Central: Southern Region on Display, correctly listed on Goodreads as by Jerry Taylor (and on same Jerry Taylor profile as above).
==================================
Despite the title and cover photo with a train on it, The Conductors is not by the same Jerry Taylor as the above train books.
The Architect and the Pavilion Hospital: Dialogue and Design Creativity in England, 1850-1914 should be on author profile Jeremy Reginald Buckley Taylor (see http://books.google.com/books?id=bWwg...), as well as merged with the other edition The Architect And The Pavilion Hospital: Dialogue And Design Creativity In England, 1850 1914.
#8,9,10 have been fixed by lafon#11 moved all Jerry Taylor books to his profile
#12 done
I have very little time today, so I will look into Jerry Taylor later, if no one else gets to it first.
Thank you for the very impressive research!
I could identify 5 different Jerry Taylor's:http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
There are still 2 books by at least one other author with this name on the profile http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
Anyone?
Reclaiming the Imagination: The Exodus as Paradigmatic Narrative for Preaching should go over to http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... It has the same editor as Courageous Compassion, the other book on that Jerry Taylor profile, and the Jerry Taylor bio in RtI http://books.google.com/books?id=K4wo... has him as a professor at the same university that published CC.Also, the two editions Reclaiming the Imagination: The Exodus as Paradigmatic Narrative for Preaching and Reclaiming the Imagination: The Exodus as Paradigmatic Narrative for Preaching should be merged.
I'm not sure what the protocol is for when authors have different forms of their names on different works, but the Jeremy Taylor who wrote Conrail Commodities is the same author as this Jerry Taylor http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... and has two other books on railroads under that form of his name. If they can be combined, great. If they can't, then that Jeremy Taylor needs to at least be disambigged from Jeremy Taylor
Grandad's Eleven goes with http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... Though the book is not listed on the author's website, this blurb http://books.google.com/books?id=Os4q... matches with this book from the author's website http://www.jeremytaylor.eu/books/foot... (i.e., it seems to be the same book, just retitled).Ditto The Vegetarian and Other Stories. It is also not on the author's website, but Tales with a Twist is, and this page http://www.esatclear.ie/~jeremytaylor... identifies them as having the same author.
But Can I Bring My Cat?: An Analysis Of Brochures Produced For Old People Entering Residential And Nursing Homes In Scotland As best I have been able to determine, this is another--and hopefully the final--Jeremy Taylor. Needs to be disambigged from Jeremy Taylor (once all the updating is done, I think Not a Chimp is the only book that should be on that profile).I think that is finally the last of the Jeremy and Jerry Taylors! Thanks Koenraad and lafon for getting all the actual updating done!
