The dining hall was bustling, as it usually was around this time. Into this swirling maelstrom of laughter and joyous conversation, Wilhelm stepped. His combat boots thudded on the hardwood floor, his heavily muscled torso straining against his shirt (the largest he could find). He came in from a side entrance, slipped between two people who were far too happy for his tastes, and sat down at a corner of the table in the back of the room as far away from everyone as he could possibly get. All of these mutants with their spirited conversation was grating on his ears. With a scowl, he reached forward and grabbed an apple from one of the platters. Few others had his appreciation for peace and quiet and all of this noise just... Wilhelm raised a fist above the table but stopped himself before he could bring it to slam down on the oak tabletop. All of these voices, most talking just to hear themselves speak, were infuriating. But he supposed he should learn to put up with it. Besides, getting in trouble for causing a disturbance again so soon would probably not be the best idea.
Katherine was sitting at the teachers table quietly, listening to the teacher next to her babble on about some scientific discovery she had no interest in but she listened anyway because what else was she going to do? She had a class next period full of new students which could be interesting as she was normally given the new mutants first to teach them some semblance of control so they didn't hurt the other students or teachers in the school. It didn't hurt that most of the males just drooled over her because of her uncontrollable power that neither she or Xavier could work out to control.
Wilhelm's gray eyes swept over the room, taking in the faces. Lots of faces. It was a big school. He shouldn't have had to worry about anyone there but it was best to be careful and know exactly who was around. All the people who were normally there were there. His gaze barely paused as it passed over the students. As an exercise he decided which were the major threats based on things like powers, age, how long they had been at the school. He did the same with the teachers. Obviously they ranked higher on the list than most of the students did. Still he didn't spend much time one them. He had seen them enough times before to already have a pretty good idea of where each of them ranked. Then he saw Katherine and he stopped to stare at her for a moment without realising it. He shook his head to clear it and tore his gaze away. Beautiful as ever. Not that he expected anything less. She had always been like that. It annoyed him that he was still affected despite his best efforts. That such a base emotion could control him was infuriating, even if it was her power that was doing it. He tore a chunk out of the apple he was holding and looked back down at his plate, hoping she hadn't noticed although she must be use to it by now. He hadn't had class with her in several years, purposefully sat in a place where he couldn't see her normally. It just so happened that someone had been sitting in his place when he came in today.

Felicity walked as fast as she could away from the backyard, all while trying to avoid other people. She couldn't be caught alone like that again, ever. And though she would have loved to rush to her room and grab a few weapons, it would be far too conspicuous for her to just run up to her room and come out with a sowrd shaped lump on her back, so instead she attempted casually walking around, although really it was more like her getting so lost in her paranoia she didn't care where she went as long as no people were there.
She reached the dining room quickly enough, but only actually realized wher she was once she swung the doors open and took in the large table that had been filled for breakfast mere hours ago. However, she didn't spot any people nearby, so Felicity figured it would be as good a resting spot as any. She walked further into the room, swinging the door shut behind her, when something glitering on the floor caught her eye. It was a beatiful ring, with what looked o be real gems on the tob of a silver band. This time, before reaching for it, Felicity gave her surroundings a once over, but as she saw no one around, she only slightly hesitated as she reached her hand out to grasp the ring.
Link had been having the best time exploring the place, with his ability of course. He found an interesting place too, a somewhat hidden room with an interesting thing inside. some kind of globe, a chair and some headgear. Of course, just by finding out the coordinates of the Institute, he had decided to scan the whole place first before coming there. He had seen with his eyes every single person, and had observed everything going on for half an hour before deciding that yes the place was very interesting.
Link had walked inside the Dining Hall, deciding to stop using his ability and go and actually see like a normal person. He managed to do it for a couple of seconds but his eyes had gotten so used to seeing everything it had reverted back itself. Not that he minded. What he saw was, well, a girl reaching for a ring. He 'saw' her a few times already before. Of course, he was out of the line of sight of the said girl. It was only his ability that was letting him see her. He walked slowly, avoiding making a sound, to look at what she was doing. Sneaky sneaky. He grinned, keeping quiet.
Tristan, as per her usual self, was trying her best to avoid social contact with any of the other mutants around the school. None of them really caught her interest. Whether it be romantically or intriguingly, no one had what she wanted when it came to forming a relationship, either friendship or more. The birds that flew about the grounds of the institute had more knowledge and allure than the beings on two legs did. The birds held secrets. They knew things that others did not, or that others wanted no one else to know. That was something Tristan enjoyed about the birds. Knowledge was power and she therefore had a lot in her possession.
The corridor leading into the dining hall was empty, but Tristan caught sight of the large double doors closing in her peripheral, the polish on the wooden plants gleaming as they shifted in the light of the hall window. Curiosity got the better of her and she moved silently over the carpet floors, her footsteps muffled as she pushed one of the two doors open enough to see what was happening. Though the crack, Tristan caught sight of a female and a male, both mutant students if she was to guess from their ages. Both were being silent, such as she was, but she was not doing anything wrong other than seeing what was happening. Both of these people she watched appeared to be doing something they shouldn't. This is what led her to push open the doors full force, the creaking hinges and smacking against the walls from them accompanying her words well as she said loudly, "Look, if you two want to sneak around, can't you at least do it in your room? People eat in here."

Felicity's hand finally touched the ring, and as she lifted it slightly off the table, she couldn't help but feel a wave of relief. She had made it, and no one had come for her yet, so if she could just sell the ring before anyone knew... She did a quick sweep of the room mostly out of habit, but when she actually saw someone sneaking torwards her, her eyes widened. Just then, another noise came from the other side of the room, but it was a door slamming open and someone- scolding her? Oh god no. She was being ambushed. But she couldn't possibly take on both of them, not without her weapons, and Felicity wasn't so blind to her powers that she couldn't see what was about to happen. When Felicity panicked, her powers went on the fritz, and being ambushed certainly was a cause for alarm. And so Felicity shrunk.
All she could really note was that she was perhaps 2 or 3 inches high, before she noticed a severe lack of ring in her hand. Without even looking up, she quickly dodged to the side, right underneath the edge of the table, and just barely avoided being crushed by the object she had been about to steal. She backed up farther under the table, and prayed that her two attackers would give up and leave. By now, Felicity was quite convinced the both of them had come from the thieves guild to kill her though, so for the most part she just hoped they would end it quickly.
Link had never really been a part of the courageous brave section of the male populace, so when the girl he was sneaking up on suddenly vanished, he did the first thing his mind was capable of doing. He screamed, practically horrified. "Totally totally not my fault." He said loudly with wide eyes, his ability suddenly halting because of his utter shock. He raised his hands upwards, used to the action whenever his parents accuse him of something. Maybe if he hadn't stopped using his ability, he would have found the girl in no time. The second rational thing he did was look at the other girl in the room, the one who suddenly barged in.
"You." He said, looking pointedly, eyebrows raised and accusing. "Did you see that? My abilities are seriously not related to any offense. Did you do that?" He asked the stranger, pointing at the space in which the other girl was supposed to be. "Because I didn't. I'm telling on you, if you did. Think she can teleport or vanish, go invisible or something?" He asked, a bit panicked. Merlin, he was new around here! He wasn't used to people doing things. He's used to 'seeing' them with his ability, yes, but seeing directly right in front of him was just a shock. "Freaky, freaky. That was so freaky."
The first thing she did was roll her eyes. How could she not? He was freaking out about practically nothing. Maybe it was because she had been there longer and had seen stranger things, but still, watching a girl vanish into thin air after knowing what kind of school you were at meant that it was unlikely another person would be blamed for the antics of the vanisher. "Chill out, glasses, and watch who you direct that eyebrow at. If you want to get treated fairly and innocently, don't go deflecting." Walking further into the room, Tristan locked her eyes onto where the mysterious girl had once been crouching, her black hair which was tied into a high ponytail swaying gently as she slowed her pace and stopped at the stop she was staring at.
Mimicking the action of the girl, she narrowed her eyes, the pupils taking over the whites until the glistening orbs were completely black. The dull twinkle of a metal ring was what drew her attention to look underneath the table. There stood a miniature human who seemed to be petrified to the stop. "Correct me if I am wrong," Tris started and then looked back at the male with her "freaky" eyes, ones that seemed to almost be daring him to disprove her words, "but I believe that she is under the table. Unless mice walk on two legs and actually wait around instead of running away from the presence of humans."

Felicity kept backing up until she reached about the middle area of the table, only stumbling over her own feet a couple times. When she reached the middle, she had expeted to silently freak out and probably start flickering, as she called it, but her panicking was quite rudely interupted by horrified screech. Felicity crumpled forward in pain, the gigantic noise practically enough to make her ears bleed. But it stopped relatively quickly, replaced instead by the male attacker's obviously panicking voice. It was still much louder then was comfortable for Felicity, but at least she could handle it now. She slowly pushed herself up, really a feat in itself considering how much she was internally freaking out. She managed to shakily get back on her feet, but when she looked up, she wished she had stayed crumpled on thr ground.
At the edge of the table where she had just been, the female attacker was staring directly at her. "Shit." She breathed, stumbling backwards towards the opposite end of the table, and soon enough, she was making a mad dash anywhere away from the gigantic face looking at her. But the second she was out from the table again, she freaked out even more. Now, she was in plain sight where they could easily attack her. But instead of running, her legs turned to jelly, and she fell to the floor, beginning to flicker. This time she onl grew to her normal size twice, a pretty low number for this level of panicking, but when she finished flickering about 3 seconds after she had begun, she found herself a little bit smaller then before, only an inch high now.
Link was a bit ticked when the strange cold girl called him glasses, subconsciously propping the said thing up. He only wore glasses so whenever he uses his ability, the change of color of his eyes wouldn't be so noticeable. When she pointed out that the vanished girl was somehow simply smaller, looking at him with all-black eyes, he felt stupid. How could he not, really? "O-kay" He said slowly, nodding a bit, deciding to use his own ability. With a blink, his eyes started flickering colors, perhaps less noticeable because of his glasses. Within seconds, he 'saw' the whole grounds of the institute, checking every room to see if the vanished girl was in there somewhere before checking the room for the supposedly small girl. It took him a few more seconds to actually comprehend that he was, in fact, looking at a girl.
"That's weird." He said, not moving at all in caution of losing his balance, after all he was using both eyes that are currently looking directly at a girl who's not supposed to be that small. He was looking at a small being, and not seeing what really was around him at the moment. Like, really zoomed. Slowly, he focused so his other eye wouldn't be using the ability, just so he could see with a half-eye and walk like a normal person. It was hard, since he just started practicing, but he could managed it for the time being. He slowly walked, before crouching in front of the small girl. Merlin, it was very dizzying when your other eye is seeing something else. "Is she okay?" He asked- not really looking at the girl he was asking, because he was pretty sure his vision zoomed in a lot more for a few seconds. The institute sure has a lot of shocking stuff, and he wandered whether the other normal-sized girl figured out what he could do.
Sensing that she had hit a nerve and that her comment had been something that did not sit well with the stranger, Tristan tilted her head as she looked at him, a delicate smirk decorating her black coated lips. "Hey, did I say that they looked bad on you?" was her question as she raised a hand and waved in in preparation for her next words. "No, I did not. For all you know it may have been a compliment in disguise." She kept her eyes on his own and was able to witness his own unique visual ability, the actions reminding her to return her own to normal. With the grey irises back in place and her brief moment of respite from her blunt and straightforward personality over, Tris turned her attention back onto the mutant girl, deciding that it was a waste of time to try mollycoddling her if she had the instincts to react so quickly. She just did not come off as the soft type to her. Or maybe she just viewed everyone as how she thought they should be.
"She must have been freaked out of her mind," she commented with a slight frown, flicking her gaze from one tow legged creature to the next. If they had of been outside, the girl would have been the right size for bird food. Not that she was a cannibal. It was more a thought on how dangerous it would be for her around animals as long as her power was not under control. "Hey, kid," Tris started off with in a tone that lacked any worry of any kind. "Would you mind turning back to full size? I think that since we haven't trodden on you already that taking the risk and tested fate may be more luck than you have." That and she didn't have an answer for the boy when the girl clearly did since it was regarding her not herself.

Katherine noticed one of her pupils staring at her and sighed, wishing she could control this side of her powers as she never knew if someone liked her for her or if it was just her powers turning them into a drooling mess. She wished Dr Xavier was still working with her on how to control them but he had pretty much given up, so she was stuck with them. The only thing she was grateful for was most of the people here weren't malicious about it or creeps, so a lot of the time they apologised for the staring, not that she blamed them it wasn't their fault- it was her powers acting up. Her powers that had lost her husband or so she believed, she would get rid of them if she could even if it would offend those who had taken her in when she had no-one else.

Felicity watched them talk among themselves, and even though thousands of thoughts were going through her head, namely warnings and courses of action, she remained parylized on the floor, her legs still useless beneath her. Strangely enough, one of the main things that annoyed Felicity right now was the fact that they were speaking about her like she wasn't in the room. She was still an intelligent being after all, despite her size. Seriously, you'd think the boy had never seen a mutant before with the way he acted. Actually, come to think of it, neither of them had really attempted killing her quite yet, not that she was trusting them. She just thought that, perhaps, they hadn't come with the intentions of killing her.
However, when the girl returned her focus on Felicity, she freaked out again, although at least she managed to hop to her feet. She tried not to focus on the sheer loudness of the voice, and instead focused on the actual words, which Felicity found to be quite surprising. The other girl wanted her to become large. That request alone was enough for Felicity to know they weren't from the thieves guild, although wether or not they could be trusted was yet to be decided. But she knew they at least weren't from the thieve guild because if anybody had come from there, the last thing they would have wanted was for Felicity to grow large again. Felicity was easily among the best fighters in the guild, and besides, it would be much easier to simply crush her under the heel of their boot rather then sustain major injuries.
But then who were they? Of course, it was entirely possible they were just average students who led normal lives and were simply concerned, but Felicity wasn't a very strong believer in such absurd luck like that, and them being out to get information from her or kill her or something like that seemed much more likely. But even if she did trust them, there was still a problem. She couldn't grow. At least shee couldn't choose to. She had had way too huge a fright for her powers to only go on the fritz for a second, although really it could stop at any time, but the point was, she couldnt grow at will right now. For all she knew, it could be minutes, hours, or maybe even a day or two before she could get ahold of them. Although a whole day was unlikely, it had hapened before, and Felicity couldn't trust her powers to be reliable.
"What do you want?" She managed to shout as loud as she could without looking like she was trying too hard, maintaining a surprisingly calm-sounding voice. She doubted either would be able to make out her exact words unless they had been paying close attention, but then, it seemed like at least a lrage portion of their focus was on her. Felicity took a step back, although forced herself to seem calm. Honestly, she wouldn't be able to keep this up for very long, as her emotions went crazy aong with her powers when this happened, but for the time being Felicity felt like she was doing a pretty decent job of masking her fear.

He stood and grabbed his nearly untouched tray before heading over to the table where Miss Woods sat. She had already noticed his staring, something he had hoped to avoid, but she had to be used to it by now. "G'mornin'" he said as he sat down across from her in a conveniently empty seat. A good opportunity to attempt to galvanize himself against her uniquely problematic abilities. "I was wonderin' if you might 'ave 'eard about anythin' comin' up." he asked in his thick British accent. It was no secret within the school that Wilhelm had been trying to get on a mission since before he was old enough to be eligible. He was intelligent, resourceful, quick thinking. His combat scores in the Danger Room were among the highest, yet he hadn't been taken on any missions despite his frequent requests. This he saw as a mistake if not a direct insult. In reality it was most likely because his combat scores were matched only by his aggression and capacity for violence. He couldn't see any resolution to a situation that didn't require force.

Link was in no way going to trust the unknown stranger about the matter of his glasses. Compliment, really, he can never really be too sure. After all, kids used to tease him for it, calling him names like four-eyes or stuff like that. He loved his glasses, so he took it to offense. Let's just say when one has the ability to watched someone all day even if they're a kilometer away, one can easily find dirty little secrets. Blackmail material, to be honest. He didn't call himself the Watcher of nothing. He could easily be the best spy...or stalker, like what half of his mind is telling him. "Right." He said, getting back to reality and out of his head, deciding on the next second to not judge the normal-sized girl straight away. He didn't know her, after all. Literally and figuratively. There were no names being dropped after all.
"Freaked out, huh. There's no reason to be freaked out. Silly girl." He said, his other eye still gazing straightly at the face of the girl who was a bit too small for the average eyes to be able to see. Deciding it would be better probably to speak in a lower volume of voice, he followed the example. "Do we seriously look that scary? I didn't mean to freak you out, to be honest." He said in a matter-of-fact tone, and not in an apologetic one. He stuck to the truth after all, so no need for him to apologize. "But it's pretty cool to see you so small."
