Hey guys, I know goodreads is kind of an internet book club, but I think it would be really cool if we could have a book club in this group. We will vote on a book to read during the month, and all who are participating in this events must read the book by the end of the month. Start next month, we will discuss the book online. Do you think this is a good idea?!!

y dont we start this month? its only the 12th, and if we wait 2 long 2 start we might forget about it :( lets do something like The Girl Who Could Fly, or The Looking Glass Wars. or are we gonna read classics like Frankenstien and Dracula?

I think that A shinning Season is a very good book! But the only problem is that it's kind of old so most people might have a hard time finding it or whatever. But we should try

Really? Hmmm....I'm in the Middle of the 4th...it's sort of different...

i hated how he put all the enviromental junk there. i mean saving the enviroment is nice and all but theres no need to ruin a perfectly good series by lecturing about it. >:(

oooh I Love max ride. boo to u sarah. the environments important. hes getting the message out. and I dont think it ruined the book, it was just a new twist. btw did u see patersons cameo (or whatev its called) on castle? I saw the premiere. its such a good show!!!!!!

if he had to go all enviromental then he shouldve done it in a way that fitted tha earlier books and was actually interesting. it completly ruined the series. the first 3 books were awesome action books with fights, humor, wings and survival. then he came out w/the next two which consists almost completly of huge lectures on why we should stop eating beef, stop using technology and how we all stink. and then a completly cheesey plot was added on that was completly random. what about the old evil scientist? what happened to the erasers? the first 3 are amazing, but the last 2... yikes

and what do u mean paterson's cameo? is he coming out with a tv show or something?

There's a MOVIE?! Ugh, it's going to ruin my whole perspective of the book!

Sarah! The enviroment is good! I'm personally a eco freak! I like how he lectures it, in a way. But not totally lectures it. It's getting the word out, that Global warming or Climate Change IS important and I think that he's just trying to get the word out! I think that's a great way to let people know! I was thinking about that before I read the Maximum Ride series, like righting a book about that. Not in a boring way, but a intresting (but not to cheesy and fake) save the world kind of thing!

Patterson is also a murder mystery writer. He appeared once for a few minutes on a new show THAT IS NOT HIS called Castle about the colloboration of a suave murder mystery writer and a policewoman. its really funny

wait....it's about the story writer and the mystery murder investigator right?...or something like that! And they hired him because in his stories, they're just like the mysteries in real life!

yeah. thats only in the first one tho. he gets permission to hang on after for "research; he based the heroine of his new series on the murder investigator.
I only saw the premiere but its AWESOMEEEEE

AHHHHH I just read max (otherwise known as book 5). Its really good and also has a global-warming-awareness bent. plus there are some HILARIOUS parts involving the Gasman.

eh, I thought it was ok. The first 3 books were better. Which parts are you talking about with Gasman?

and if you dont like the environmental bent, then too bad, go get some environmental ethics. dont u see, this is an amazing way to get the word out! hundreds, maybe thousands of many different ages read maximum ride. how better to spread the word than through an already- popular book series? its one of the most far-reaching ideas implemented thus far!

I know ur talking about book 5, i meant i only like the first 3, i didnt like the 4th and 5th. I dont like the enviromental bent because it ruined a perfectly good series. all the books execpt for the last 2 are about crazy evil scientist with no morals who are trying to ruin the flock's lives. they have evil wolf things, mind tricks, tracking devices, and whole bucketfuls of evil. All those books were about the flock escaping and fighting the evil scientists. ten the 4th and 5th book came and he totally threw all that away. He just went "O, I dont care how all my earlier books were about something completly different and had a totally different angle to it. I'm just gonna ruin everything by adding in boring enviromental lectures in a corny way, and if ruins the books, O well". I care about the enviroment and all but surely theres a better way to get the word out without having to ruin awesome series and writing corny books.

Yeah, but after itex was destroyed, i mean come on, what are u going 2 do, resurrect it and have them fight AGAIN? that just gets dumb. and I dont think it ruined the series, had corniness, or anything like that and I liked some of the new humor (or not new, just humor) more than in some of the other books, and I like the development of the relationship with fang, but anyway, we'll just have to agree to disagree, shall we?
