Music!

It's inspirational, motivational, and we have all heard it.

Talk about it, compare stuff, whatever. Just remember, BE NICE AND RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE's OPINIONS!

Classical music is pretty good :)

Personally I listen to most genres, with some restraints - example: I will not listen to Country.

:) It's just the way I am.

message 4: by Taggerung (new)

Taggerung | 142 comments Well, you're from down under, Country's kinda Midwest USA....that's where I'm from! ;) haha I live country, but not stupid songs like Redneck Woman.

Pretty cool song Gyorgy.

I mostly listen to trailer type music and movie and game soundtracks.

This Skyrim theme song below is one of the best songs ever composed.

Never heard of them, should check them out...

I listen to a variety of music. I love soundtracks and how classical music is used in old movies and tv shows. I think that music and film is fascinating in how they mix...

message 24: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 25, 2012 06:29AM) (new)

I like Blue Oyster Cult, Snow Patrol, Karnivool, Pendulum, Rise Against, Art vs Science Anberlin, Amy Meredith, The Getaway Plan, Muse, The Script, 30 Seconds to Mars, You Me at Six, Angus & Julia Stone, Coldplay... just to name a few of my favourite music artists.

If I were asked to give a definite favourite, I would not be able to but I would at least narrow it down to probably: Snow Patrol, Anberlin, The Getaway Plan, Angus & Julia Stone and Pendulum.

You might find it interesting how filmmaker Peter Greenaway and composer Michael Nyman worked on film soundtracks.

György | 180 comments Emily wrote: "Karnivool"

This is the only band I recognise from your list simply because about four or five years ago they needed a few boy sopranos to be part of one song they were recording so a few (including me) were selected from a children's choir I used to be part of.

Just looked it up, the song was called Goliath. I am so glad they misspelt my name on the album because personally I would not like to be associated with that sort of music.

Also, one of my friends (who has exactly the same birthday as you) has pretty much the same taste in music as you.

Haha you music elitist :p
Kidding but that actually sounds interesting though that you did some singing like that...and yeah I can understand not wanting to be associated with music or things anyway.

You sand in that song?! I really do like that one.

I think I would love to meet your friend. :)

~Hannah~Musicale~ (hhs_piano4ever) | 1 comments Classical music!!!!!! CHOPIN!! Is the best. Anyone here know Krystian Zimerman? http://m.youtube.com/?reload=3&rd... You should all watch this! Zimerman on Chopin!

That is subjective. Frédéric Chopin (or the original Polish version of his name, Fyderyk Szopen) was a 19th century composer of mainly piano music. Personally I think he is very good at piano music but his weaknesses are in orchestral music.

I don't like that song. Although it is comforting to know that they misread a "v" in my last name for a "u" so when someone searches my name on the internet a dozen sites with that album don't come up.

Emily wrote: "I think I would love to meet your friend. :) "

I think you should too. He knows a lot about philosophy. His father is a Marxist philosopher and his (great-?)grandfather was in the Australian Communist Party.

Hehe, at another website I was a member of I dubbed myself a "psychic match-maker," no one took me seriously even though my methods did actually work to some extent (and I have proof). I wonder what a Pisces with a Pisces would be like? ;)

Oh hahaha.... I forgot I edited the Wikipedia article on "Sound Awake" with the correct spelling of my name. Oh well.

At the moment I'm lovin Steve Reich's extremely repetitive phasing music, especially "Drumming." Classical music is great. :D

message 39: by György (new)

György | 180 comments He's a classical guitarist like me and thinks Mauro Giuliani is cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPoBcq...

Also, I found out that two other people I know at school are fans of Karnivool and I showed them that I recorded in the song Goliath much to their surprise.

So he plays guitar, like Karnivool.....does he have any other defining characteristics? :)
