Wow, Janie! That's quite the book haul! I've recently bought 77 Shadow Street, Dark Rivers of the Heart, and the Bad Place in hardcover. I also bought Thinner in paperback.
hehe I bought 77 shadow street a few weeks ago. Excited to start that one. I am pretty sure we are still reading it at the end october.
The Descent by Jeff Long. Picked it up at a used bookstore for like 3 or 4 bucks. Very good so far :-)And Chuck...did you buy all of those books recently? Holy cow lol
The 25th anniversary edition of IT was somewhere around 100$. That's probably the most I've paid...the least is literally one penny.

Chuck I think McCammon is absolutely brilliant! I wanna read more fo his stuff, hence the reason for getting "Mine" today.

You know, the Bram Stoker Award thing is McCammon's baby.
Um, it's been awhile since I've gotten a new book, but I think the last one was The Wind Through the Keyhole: A Dark Tower Novel!
Cheryl wrote: "Got the Book Thief today."Hi Cheryl! I also just bought The Book Theif a few days ago, though I have no idea when I'll get around to reading it.
The Book Thief is excellent--one of my best books this year! I hope you guys love it. I'm waiting for Swan Song to be delivered from Amazon.
I just bought Blockade Billy for 5 dollars at Walmart. It comes with the short story "Morality" which i have to read, but I already read Blockade Billy form the library.
Chuck wrote: "Christopher, are you reading "The Passage" yet?"Yes I sure am :-) About halfway through actually. Enjoying it a lot. Very different.

Oh I do hope you like it Terri. Swan song is my favorite for 2012

I have bought at least 25 books from UBSs within the past 3 weeks. Many are not on my TBR; which is a shame; but they were books I was interested in. There are entirely too many to list. I do remember picking up the Thirst No. 1: The Last Vampire, Black Dice, and Red Dice series, and a few more horror writers.
I have also downloaded at least 15 freebies from Amazon. Its free sooooo....
I went to B&N during lunch last week and purchased Atlas Shrugged. For my e-reader, I purchased The Great Gatsby, Fifty Shades Freed, and Fall of Giants

Alondra I hope you enjoy Thirst, that is by far, my favorite Vampire series. He did an incredible job with it.

Janie wrote: "Alondra I hope you enjoy Thirst, that is by far, my favorite Vampire series. I love that store; nice selection and little chairs to hover around in. plus they hold books for you.. :)
also picked up a John LeCarre book called The Russia House; The Last Vampire, which looked intersting, considering whitley strieber writes about alien abductions and stuff. :O
Janie wrote: "Glad you have place to go Alondra, is The Book Rack (love the name btw) a UBS?"Yes! There is also The Last Word and a few more... love them. :)
I had an itch to do a quick Goodwill book hunt this afternoon... must've picked the wrong Goodwill, or the wrong day I guess, because the shelves were half bare, when usually they're overflowing. But I did find Un Lun Dun and Mistress of the Art of Death, both of which had been on my to-ponder list, so it wasn't a total fail. :)
I never even thought about looking for book at goodwill. Hmmm? Maybe I should check it out. I have just been spoiled with our UBS I guess.
Lol Goodwill is my UBS. We don't have any other bookstores around here, used or new (unless you buy a new book at Wal-Mart or the dollar store), so the Goodwills are my hunting grounds. There's a couple of 'em all within a 15-20 minute drive, so I switch 'em up. I've found so many good things there :)

I really liked TWTTK a lot, too, Chuck. I'm glad you did, as well. And that's awesome that yours has an excerpt from Doctor Sleep!
Well my dear hubby surprised with The first 4 books in the dark tower series, They should be here within a week! Yay!
hehe I know CHuck I am excited. He got me the gift set. I will prolly not keep the box they come in though. But The Dark Tower series I am starting in January, and having the first 4 is a great start considering I will prolly read them all in a week. LOL

LA had 99c per hardback, and 39c per paperback!! i cleaned house when i was there... :D

Most of the ones I go to are from 50cents to $1 for a paperback and $1-$2 for a hardback, but the one I go to that's in a college town has higher prices. Every book is priced individually, from $1-$5, whether hard or paperback. A lot depends on what books are popular at the moment, or continually popular, like Stephen Kings and Twilight and the other YA vampire series, and James Patterson, etc, those ones are always higher priced. That's the one I chose to go to the other day, I usually find lots of good stuff there, but the prices aren't as good as at the other few I go to. :)
I just purchased Different Seasons by Stephen King for a group read. Im very excited because I read this book years ago and have an excuse to reread.
I've read most of his books. I usually would read them as soon as they come out. But I stopped after Dreamcatchers. I wasn't happy with his stories.
Bought Night Shivers; Ready Player One; The Talented Mr. Ripley; Mistress of the Art of Death and 30 Days of Night, Vol. 1; all from Amazon. I am so excited. Nothing like a box waiting for you after a hard day at work :D
