Icy-Cobwebs-Crossing-SpaceTime (readingreindeerproximacentauri) | 79 comments I choose for Melissa Awakening the Nightmare-which is also a to-read for me; or The Baptist-which I read and loved. I enjoy anything by Ruby Barnes

I'm sort of confused ... Are we suppose to both read the same book or are we suppose to pick a book for each other?

message 5: by Karina (new)

Karina (karinargh) | 807 comments SilverRaindrops and I will be tackling Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson

message 6: by Kara (new)

Kara (karaayako) | 3984 comments Karina, I just knew you and Silver would pick something like that. :)

Mallory & Melissa, sorry for any confusion. You pick one book for the two of you and read it together.

Kara (karaayako) | 3984 comments Melanie and I chose The Professor & the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity & the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary which I'm crazy excited to read. It sounds so nerdy and awesome.

Well Mallory, do you want to read Awakening the Nightmare since its both on our TBR. If not, no ahead and pick something else. I'm up for anything except Jane Austen.

I'm really looking forward to this, actually. Great incentive to get started on a massively intimidating book!

Don't forget the fact that there are two other massive books in the series. Which we will have to read if the first one is good enough ;).

Icy-Cobwebs-Crossing-SpaceTime (readingreindeerproximacentauri) | 79 comments Melissa, let's go ahead and read Awakening the Nightmare; I've still got 3 other Pick4Me to catch up on (two of them are #5 and #1 of a series) and finally seeing some light about the Review Mountain-plus November is NaNoWriMo, so I'd like to get this one read before November.:)

message 12: by Ashley (last edited Oct 25, 2012 08:22PM) (new)

Ashley Sara and I have chosen to read The Maze Runner by James Dashner . I actually tried reading it before and ended up putting it down. I'm ready to give it another try! :) The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner

message 13: by Kelsi (new)

Kelsi (essentiallybooked) | 751 comments Athira and I have chosen Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse.

So, I went to the library today and there no no copies in the county !! I don't know what to do as I don't have the $ to purchase it at this time :(

message 15: by NayNay (new)

NayNay Sorry Kara, but Suzie and I have changed our reading selection....we are now going to read Honor Bound by Brenda Novak. Thanxs

Kara (karaayako) | 3984 comments We're almost done with November! If you've finished, how did you all like your books?

message 17: by Karina (new)

Karina (karinargh) | 807 comments Quicksilver is a huge book! No wonder the publisher split it into three separate smaller books to make it less intimidating. I did make it through the whole thing though, and found it entirely worth my time.

It took most of the month, though - and I had more reading time than Silver did, I think. The next parts of the Baroque cycle are probably going to follow me into springtime!

Kara (karaayako) | 3984 comments I really liked The Professor & the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity & the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary. It was different than I expected. I thought it'd be more about the dictionary, but it ended up being about the two men behind it (which I should've been able to guess based on its title). They had such interesting, tragic lives. Solid four stars from me.
