Any theories on Dancer after reading Iced? We know he is human but he seems more somehow, other than being super smart.. I think there are going to be some surprises with him. Wonder if Dani could possibly end up with him and not Ryo.

Oh Meredith, I am so hoping Dani ends up with anyone other than Ryo. I am very curious about Dancer. Some think he may be Rhymer, I'm not sure. I would love to get my hands on any of the deleted material that talks about Dancer. He is not as he seems but I'm not sure what he actually is besides a huge puzzle at this point.
I am dying to know too! I am thinking the Rhymer thing as well. I need to look back on shadowfever and read the part about him. Did it say that he ages but more slowly than a human? If so Dancer only looks about 18.
I think the book said that Dancer was 17. My problem is that I don't remember anyone named Rhymer from the books!
Rhymer was suppose to be the person who drank to elixir that prolongs life??What if he the person who wrote that dairy Mac/Barrons was reading... I think dani got it for her?? Would explain the aging thing... and maybe the dark secrets he is protecting that KaT sensed!!!
But I love Dani and Dancer.... I so hope he is her first if he cant be her forever...hehehe
If Dancer was Rhymer, wouldn't Ryodan smell it on him? For some reason, I really don't trust this guy. He's way too perfect. He's the only one who doesn't try to chain and cage Dani, acts with her like she wants him to and just takes care of her. If, however, he is completely innocent I'm afraid he's in for major heartbreak. I do believe he's genuinely in love and Kat confirmed it, but I don't think he is what he says he is. Because really, what kind of person is named Dancer?!
I think we'll definitely find out that Dancer's hiding something about himself. But the darkness that Kat senses may be from a past trauma rather than being a bad person. I like Dancer a lot and wouldn't mind seeing Dani with him. At the very least, it would be the most appropriate option.
I love Dancer & am rooting for him but... I remember what KMM did to V'lane. He looked like the golden boy until the end. So I am very cautious of loving Dancers character. I was always on Barron's side even when he was an @ss. So I wasn't heartbroken over V'lane. Dancer though.. need much more info about him.
I don't know if Dancer's going to turn out to be the bad guy but he definitely has some secrets. I'm curious to find out where KMM's going with the mysterious supplies hoarder in Dublin
My gut feeling is that the bracelet that Dancer gave Dani is his way of tracking her whereabouts. I think it is possible that Dancer is the Rhymer, a piece of the Unseelie King or Fae-touched, at the very least. Rhymer seems the logical explanation because Dani said he was a poet in the Fever series, and he is extremely brilliant. If he has lived for thousands of years, imagine the amount of education he would have.
Robin, I like your thought on the bracelet. And yes, I too think there is way more to Dancer than we know yet. Also, am I wrong, but I thought Dani is supposed to end up with Christian eventually. Like as in at leaste a few years since she is only 14.
Gataki wrote: "Robin, I like your thought on the bracelet. And yes, I too think there is way more to Dancer than we know yet. I do not believe we will see Dani with a man until the third book in the series, Flayed, when she will be 17 years old.
Robin wrote: "Gataki wrote: "Robin, I like your thought on the bracelet. And yes, I too think there is way more to Dancer than we know yet. All the love interests for Dani are a bit annoying at this point. She is too young and too naive to even acknowledge what's going on around her in regards to "mates" and such. Ryodan is very cryptic in his actions towards her, Christian deserves better and Dancer has something up his sleeve. Just my two cents :)
I agree with everything you've said Jessa. I actually hope that Dancer is better than what we're being led to believe because I love seeing brain-smart characters in books, but I'm thinking no...
Hmmm..All good thoughts!! I never thought about the bracelet being a tracking device. But Dani says she never takes it off..so that is a good thought. And it makes so much more sense that a 17 year old who is a poet and so brilliant has has years and years to perfect his genius. Also his strange lack of fear for Christian and Ryo (where everyone else thinks Ryo is the Devil and Christian...an Unseelie Prince!!)and also doesn't it always seem like he appears out of thin air?? Maybe he is just stalking Dani..But still.Ryo is definitely in "daddy" mentor role with Dani. I am hoping he is in no way a love interest. Christian...still up in the air. He thinks he is going to marry her...
I really hope Dancer is simply a very smart human. I know there are hints about dark secrets but it would be such a nice change to everyone having or getting superpowers, immortality etc. I really liked him in the book and felt like he was the only one who treated Dani right. He gave her freedom but cared at the same time.
I'm sure the bracelet is used for tracking. Dani mentiones how they are like magnets. I guess that is because Dancer can find her that way.
That would make sense. I'd wondered about that too - one of those 'very convenient' items in the story.
Robin, I agree with you about the bracelet. I think there is a lot more to Dancer than we know now. I am glad he is good for Dani, she needs a friend who seems to accept her as she is and truly cares for her. I am anticipating finding out the truth about Dancer. I don't want Christian to be bad!! (just had to get that out) Karen has me hooked again. I loved the humor in this book and look forward to the next in the series. Thank you Karen!
Dancers like the pretty golden boy at this stage of the series (seems to good to be true and all too human) but he "appears" to be the right guy for Dani at this moment in time. Whereas Christian ... woah Mr Tall, Dark and Freakayyy!! ... if you're gonna have lady friends over, at least dump last nights bodies huh?!
And Ryodan ... no matter how old Dani is or will be, I just cant visualise these two as a couple ... at all.
Im with Dani on this "Ewww like Dude ... hes an old Man!"
... even though hes got mad skills I just cant see how Dani's gonna want Jo's dirty old seconds ... ewwww.. gross!
Cheekylele wrote: "even though hes got mad skills I just cant see how Dani's gonna want Jo's dirty old seconds "Love this statement! I'm intrigued by Ryodan, but KMM is going to need to do some major convincing before I would be okay with a Dani/Ryodan pairing. I can't figure out where she is going with them, yet. But the thing with Jo...bleh.
Do you guys think Dancer will be a good guy or a bad one in the end? I really, really hope he stays a good guy. I don't know why but it would feel "cheap" if he was turned into a villain. But maybe that's just because I like him.
I agree Sarah, I want Dancer to be a good guy too! I just don't know yet, I can really imagine him going either way. I for once would like to see the "friend" get the girl....

Hey, I totally agree with you there! I think Ryo is cool and hot and all that, but...I just can't picture Dani settling with him, like you said, with the whole Jo thing. But then again, KMM has a way of turning the worst of our imaginations to our better side, making us agree with her even when moments before, we were all "psst, no way!".

I want him to be good. Everyone seems to be tainted in someway whether its supernatural or something dark. It'll be nice to have someone who is a good "human" in the series. A bit refreshing actually. I like how his intelligence and wits are his gift. He doesnt have to be a love interest (Dani's too kick ass to have one anyway) but I actually think he does for Dani what Mac sought out to do. Lighten her up and see a more animated side of her.
Gothcupcake wrote: "What the heck was Dancer talking about when he had told Dani that 'parents are afraid of the children they raised' in Iced? Why would he say that? He was raised in what society would call 'normal u..."omg you're so right! that was pretty weird. like some of the things Dani mentioned he said were kinda strange, like the whole bit about hating time so much.
I don't think Dancer is going to be a villain so much as his lies are going to hurt Dani badly.
He practically loves her, but he's hiding something. I mean if we're expected to think Ryodan's a viable option for her HEA I can't see him being anything SO bad that Dani couldn't get past it. I mean DANI herself has done horrible things, I can see her being forgiving. her whole attitude is you are what you are.
But.. he must be lying to her so badly about SO much that it shakes up everything.
unless, knowing K Mo he could be a baby blood drinker I don't fucking know lmao
Yep I can agree. She knows what Ryodan is capable of. She knows he does things that goes against what she stands for. So it is what it is. Dancer lying to her would hurt badly.

The whole hating time (his weird stabbing clocks poetry), thing might be because he's immortal? Which leads some strength the argument he might be Rhymer, and cursing being 17 forever. lol.
oh shit. that's entirely possible, she said a seelie killed her mother. And Dancer's got fae brushed looking eyes. Maybe he was one at some point. But then again Dani has killed people, it would be like her with Alina. even though she realizes she wasn't all there, she still blames herself for it. And her mom dying actually freed her in a way.
I definitely think the time thing could point to him being immortal and that's why he's not concerned with Christian and Ryodan's death threats. Him being 17 forever would suck tho he'd never grow out of being Dani's "little boyfriend"! lol

I just don't know what else he could be?

with Karen, honestly we probably wouldn't be able to guess. Like with Barrons, it's probably something out of left field

lmao right? or he was the evil faery court jester or a smarmy faery dust smuggler and distributor OR a mad demon of super DARK scienceI could come up with a thousand different dastardly things ahaha

Haha, this might just be it. His 'dark secret' might not be so dark after all. Just KMM fooling us. But, he's definitely got some weird fae related BS going on.
