The Power of Six discussion

So The Power of Six was my favorite book. (granted i havent read the third book) and im just so disapointed that a movie isnt coming out. Why is there no movie coming out? How do you feel about that?

I guess because I am Number Four movie was a big flop, and couldn't make a second movie. But if I never had seen I am Number Four than I would have never met the hot Alex Pettyfer.

How do you know there's not going to be a second movie?

The first movie was absolutely terrible. Without a doubt, one of the worst book to movie adaptations I have ever seen. That being said, I don't think they wanted to epically embarrass themselves by making another sub-par movie just for the sake of trying to make a quick buck. I for one am thrilled that they aren't going to be making another one.

I really don't know, I thought the first movie was pretty great, so great that I started to read the books. But maybe it wasn't that popular ... :(

i think they are going to make a movie to this book. they haven't made it yet because making movies takes time to get the set, the characters, and every thing else. the movie was awesome but maybe didn't get good ratings. don't give your hopes up they might make a movie because the author is making a 4th book. it isn't right to make a great series and then forget about making more than 1 movie...

the movie and the books were amazing. how could you say it was terrible.

dont get your hopes up, Im a huge movie fan (not..the I am Number Four movie but..others haha) and I havent seen anything saying there would be a second movie...at least not before 2015, so I highly doubt they will make one at all.

I loved the first movie and after reading the second and third books, I wish they'd continued with making the books into movies. Especially after The Rise of Nine. That one was SO intense. To see that play out in a movie would be amazing.

The first movie flopped. I thought it was pretty good - until I read the books. I understand how the people who had read the book before the movie came out didn't like the movie.
The reason it flopped was because it came out the same time that many other movies came out. Movies that people were more familiar with, with more well known actors and more money for publicity. I myself wanted to see I Am Number Four when I saw the trailer, but passed on the opportunity to go many times in favor of a different movie. So all in all, it came out at a bad time and was so different from the book that it didn't garner enough money or interest to spawn a second movie.

the first movie was horible and i was mad when they just got it wrong and im not disappointed that they are not making a second cause they would just ruin more of it and it will cost lots of money but i do love the books i read all of them

The movie can't have been terrible becuase it introduced a lot of people to the book series. I for one wouldn't pick up a book if the movie was bad... First impressions count.

Actually, they started filming a movie a couple years ago, but the crew stopped filming for some reason...

I think there is no movie because they seriously screwed up the first one. I mean, the movie is good, but it doesn't follow the book. I mean, the totally switched powers, Six having heat protection... WHAT?!?!?! But anyway, there powers get more important in this story so making a second movie, with still jacked up powers wouldn't be too good. IMO.

in the film they introduced the characters. completely. the only thing wrong about it was because the plot in the novel was changed in the film. Even four and six's abilities were changed to more "not-so-big" ones. They should have followed the book well, what's wrong with following the plot anyway...

There is no second movie because it would be bad just like the first one

i hate those books. the author has a horrible writing style, i fell like im reading something by an 8 year old. kind of pathetic actually.

in this case there is good reason. its not my fault if 'literature' these days is considered these idiotic teen novels. this thread was created for the purpose of letting people give their opinion, you have no right to tell me that my opinion is wrong. just because i think differntly than you doesnt mean that i have bad taste. maybe if you read more books like ones by Ray Bradbury or Isaac Asimov you would see my point.

... only one person said that, and the movie was just not accurate. And that was quite rude, considering everyone has there own opinions. If that person thinks the author writes like an 8 year old, let him be. People are not stupid because they have a different opinion than you.

i saw the movie then read the first bookand watch the movie again and i hated the movie but i love the books hope there is going to be a fourth boook

Look,they're not making anymore films because there is no way they can follow up after the plot falls in the first one.

They could change their minds..its nice to get a visual

Id like to see a second movie, but I just hope its not as bad as the first one. The characters all seemed to fit, especially for Sam and Henri, but the Mogodorians were laughable. And for some reason they switched up a lot of their legacies. I loved the book, but if they make a second movie I hope they make it better than the first movie.

For this book? Wow I did not see that coming! Huh... Well I can't wait to see who they cast for Marina.

The movie adaptation was far from the book. I really was disappointed in the film. So I guess they won't be making a sequel, but I still hope they does and this time it would be so much better.

Idk i thought Beautiful Creatures was the worst book to movie adaptation in my opinion

I think the first movie was good. Maybe the production failed to showcase the detailed info necessary for the viewers. But i hope there's a movie soon! *fingers crossed*

Why no movie? because the first movie pretty much sucked and wasn't a big success.

In response to all the negativr opinions of the book, the first Percy Jackson was also bad and here is the second movie! The movie probably wasnt all that great because of the director, a new director might be able to make tye second movie better.

OMG i love this series and i hate how they aren't making a sequel, but they did alot of stuff in the movie that was diffrent from the book. I hope in the future they make one though because,in percy jackson, they announce they were not making a sequal but nowthey changed their minds

Yes! I just saw it and the movie sucked. Biggest problem: They killed Henri too soon, though he shouldn't have died at all. Sadness.

I agree, but like percy Jackson, the movie was so inaccurate. It was awful.

i thought the the movie was great, but i guess it wasnt popular enough for a second. which is a pity, because i was looking forward to seeing more characters portrayed visually rather than still imagining them in my head.

that said, i love the lorien legacies. it was actually the movie that got me interested in them, too.

I dont understand why everyone keeps saying that six was fire proof in the the movie, look at the blue force field behind her, she is clearly using her telekinesis to stop the fire, the fire is not touching her and the book John/4 gets completely engulfed in flames.

I was so sad when I found out they weren't continuing. This series is a favourite for both me and my boyfriend. Its probably the only book series we can have a decent conversation about. I was looking forward to a new great series of movies. I sooo hope they continue in the future, otherwise I will just have to keep re-reading the books.

IMO the movie wasn't good and became a big flop for most of the audience. It would have been better if they made Lorien Legacies a TV series.

I loved the movie. I thought it was great. It made me read the books. Really. So, did the movie really suck and I didn't notice it because I'm drooling at Alex Pettyfer? I really wish they'd make more movies. But make sure that the actors would fit the numbers! I don't wanna be disappointed when I see a Nine differently. ^^

maybe someone'll remake the film, improve it, and they'll kick off from there.

hopefully. i love the lorien legacies and so badly want to see it in a film adaptation

LOL, i was drooling over him during the whole movie too, i thought it was great! Hmm, were we a little blinded? i thought it was real interesting though

If alex not in the next movie, i dont want to see it at all!!
