Gads! Thanks, all. Just a note: I'm going to be putting Lethal Takeout on a free day end of this week, so everyone can get a chance to download it. I'll let you all know the date.
I am one of those culturally confused individuals, hence most of my characters come from all over the globe. My great-grandparents come from UK, Poland (no jokes, please), Russia and Lithuania. I was born in South Africa (hi, Jax!), grew up in Canada & now reside in Kenya for past 12 years.I wrote my first story when I was 7, and haven't stopped since.
The sequel to Dragon's Mind is being edited as we speak, and the sequel to Lethal Takeout should be out early 2013.
I've just started working on a story that will take place in Kenya during a rather interesting and paranormally related event in 1898. I'm pretty excited about it, as I get to do some research into my adopted country, as well as the British colonialist mindset of the time.
Hmmm... I have 1 husband (1 is quite enough), 2 kids (that's where the production line stops), a yappy little dog, a rabbit who keeps trying to eat my vegetable patch, a cranky tortoise and a goose egg we are trying to hatch.
Anything else you want to know?! I may not answer, but you can always ask. As we say in Kenya, "Looking is free", or in this case, "Asking is free".
Lethal Takeout will be free 8 - 10 November 2012 on Amazon / Kindle. If you need another e-format, let me know (but please support the Amazon free days by downloading it from there as well, if possible!) A paranormal urban fantasy with a twist of dark humour: When Axe Cooper is murdered while picking up Chinese takeaway, he’s pretty irritated about the loss of a good dinner, not to mention being dead. Not prepared to move on just yet, Axe decides to stick around and haunt his best friend, Lily Chan, while trying to figure out why anyone would kill a janitor. In the meantime, Axe is hired by The Ghost Post to track down recently deceased writers. As he learns more about his new phantom friends, Axe realises that his murder is not an isolated event and that if he doesn’t learn to fly like Superman, Lily could be next.

I hear you on the one husband/two kids policy :)Something I'd like to know is about daily life in Kenya: was it easy getting used to such different environment after you lived in Vancouver? Were your kids born there? Funny symmetry, you moved to Kenya when I moved to the US :)

It was NOT easy getting used to Kenya! Nairobi is very different from Vancouver: a lot more crime; security awareness is now second nature to me - to the average Canadian, I'd probably sound paranoid! Also I'm still not 'comfortable' with the extremes of wealth and poverty. And I hope I never will be, because it is so unjust.
On the plus side, the weather here is year-round awesome! I love the natural beauty and the people are warm and friendly (those that aren't carjacking you). I find that I have a lot more options here, as a mother. I've worked full time for a short stint, part time, consulting and have built up my career without feeling like I sacrificed my family life. And I have house help, which is a huge bonus.
Both my kids were born here.

So Vered tell us all a little (or a lot) about your work, upcoming projects, and anything else you want to tell us!!!
