Not at the moment. There's no real need for any while we don't have a lot of members. Why? What did you want to do?

Sage of Souls (sageofsouls) | 264 comments Mod
They're other cities, not realms. Realms are like other planets, to which I don't know about, so they won't exist. Only Aber-Toril will exist, since it's really the only one that has any information to it. However, I might put the Elemental Planes and the Quasi-Elemental Planes into the roleplay, as well as Hell, but we'll see about that. As for the cities, I'll get to them later. Right now, it's not a big deal because we don't have a lot of members at the moment, so there's no real need for all of those excess topics. However, I will put the forest and mountain topics I'm soon. Just be patient, please, ok?

Unfortunately, since this is an online, text-based roleplaying...area...you can't really start out as you would in an online game or in the true board game D&D, so just jump in anywhere you feel appropriate and we'll get you started. :)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 98 comments Ok, I'll go into the Trade of Blades place and see what happens.

Only as many as you can handle. If you can't keep up with all of your characters, then I will ask you to either find a way to kill off your character (and yes, kill him off, not just make him disappear) or try to become active in it.

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 98 comments OK, I'm fine with that

A multi-class, sure, but Epic Characters are for people with experience like your's and are already moderators. Right now, I have no moderators and I'm not going to have any until we get more members. Maybe later.

message 23: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 98 comments So can I make an epic, and BTW, you said they would be famous, but i dispute that, an epic warlock or blackguard may have good reason not to be famous. I was thinking bout making Ammon Jerro, the warlock, as an epic character.

Amir is a ßø≤≤ | 138 comments You can make a multi class, but you have to be a mod to make an epic.

I already answered that question. As for the question of fame, I'm defining an Epic Character differently than the way Neverwinter Nights does. All Epic Characters are either famous or imfamous--both of which makes them well known--because of their outstanding achievements and/or status in society, as well as an adventurer.

Amir is a ßø≤≤ | 138 comments Can you accept my Multi? And respond to my posts on both groups?

I'm working on it. I'm trying to respond to everyone and my eyes are killing me, plus I have to get up early tomorrow. So I may not get to everything tonight. I'll take a look at your character. Also, in the future, please don't answer questions or clarify other peoples' answers to questions that concern a moderator or me until you are a moderator, yourself. I'd like to handle the situations on my own, at the moment. While I am appreciative, I'd just like to prevent confusion of authority at the moment.

I'll have sort of "quests" later on that will offer "rewards" that can be claimed later. Since I can't make this like true D&D, or, otherwise, people would be lost, I can't make an XP system, so I'll just have something else that they can do to earn levels. I might also add some level differences, like the Novice spells vs Master spells spectrum (as like Skyrim) for spellcasters, to where they can't cast higher level spells until they're a certain level, which would work better than the level 0-10 spells that D&D uses, since I'd have to, then, actually name multiple spells as examples for those levels or, otherwise, list out every single D&D spell and then have members memorize them, if they're spellcasters, which I'd like to avoid, and then do something like how powerful your weapon can be before you can no longer use it until you are a certain level for physical attackers (Fighters, Rangers, Blackguard, etc.). But that's only if I can get a good level system going and people can easily understand the requirements for different. Sadly, I think that will be difficult to accomplish. While I may be able to come up with a good leveling system, that'd also mean I'd need to put more restrictions on starter levels, which I'll probably have to do, anyway, to prevent people from just starting out at the Mac level. I'll let you know when I figure it out. And, no, characters cannot start out as Epic Characters.

Rinofthemill | 37 comments ((post compilations- i am the master, it's me XD))

sorry! i'm half asleep- if that's even possible when my mind's buzzing with information. the creation of a character is such a strange thing.

i have a character i'm in the process of creating but, being me, alot of the traits i've given her i can't seem to fit into the classes, races... well you'll see. also you're up late :)
firstly i think she's an analyst Blackguard- she's proficient with a longsword and she's totally focused when fighting, and she studies her opponents before making a swift and deadly blow. i think this fits into the analyst blackguard requirements quite well (oh- and she's true neutral, will that affect her? i did read all the help you gave on the charrie section, honest) but i have a problem. i can see my character clearly in my head and she seems to use a spell. just the one- i don't want her to be a multiclass spellcaster, but i can see her channelling the wind through her sword to boost her attacks. i think it would be a simple evocation spell but i'm not sure how i can make it work. i don't know if blackguards can use spells, and even if they can this is the only one she uses (or perhaps the wind is the only element she controls). i was going to have her worship the primordial goddess Akadi but she doesn't favour the longsword class so everything is really quickly escalating into the realms of complex. i was wondering if it was possible that my character could be wearing some kind of enchanted amulet that granted her a few spells concering the control of the wind? is that plausible? i've played never winter nights two but blackguard was never a class i used (twin weaponed ranger, that's me :) ) so i'm not sure how to proceed here. i don't want to break any rules but at the same time i'd love for my character to be just as i first imagined her. if blackguards can't use spells do you know of another fighter/very slight magic class she could fit into?

another obstacle i came up against was species. after some research and digging i found a species that i find perfect for my character, but again it isn't listed and i don't want to cause trouble by breaking any rules. although rare they do exist in the dungeons and dragons universe and even live in places such as baldur's gate :)
Eladrin Closely related to the Elves, the eladrin are mysterious people of Faerie. Masters of sword and spell, they defend their glittering cities and ancestral homelands from the dark forces arrayed against them. While eladrin are content to seclude themselves among their own kind behind the wards and defenses protecting their communities, the burgeoning evil stalking the lands brings forth many eladrin champions who devote their lives to battling their ancient enemies... A few sought refuge in human domains. Baldur's Gate and Waterdeep saw the greatest influxes of eladrin http://dustin.wikidot.com/eladrin
i think the species really fits my character and i was wondering if it would be possible to use it? if not i'll just go for moon elf or something

my only other query (that i can recall) was that i wanted to make my character good at mixing potions- does that count as magic? and if it does, would it also add to the class problem i'm currently having?

i really appreciate your help you know, and i'm sorry if i'm being a bother- i just want to get this right :)

oh! i just had an idea.
if she had a familiar, could they grant her evocation powers and control over the wind? or could they use it to help her? i'm just seeing what would work
also are bastard swords allowed? they seem the perfect compromise between longswords and greatswords, and are personally one of my favourite weapons. one handed, not too heavy... pretty please?

Ok, let me try to answer these questions in order as best as I can (and yes, I was up late :P).

The characteristics of basic combat you've described for your character are fitting for the specialization of Analyst and are appropriate, so there's nothing wrong there. As for the allignment, I've never played Neverwinter Nights 2, personally, nor do I know a whole lot about the Blackguard class other than that thy are fallen Paladins and cannot be any Good allignment. Whether they can be neutral or not, I'm not sure, but I have it listed as allowed, so, yes, True Neutral is allowed.

Unfortuneatelly, Blackguards are limited to a restricted pool of chaotic Divine magicks (or, at least, in this group) and are unable to use any other classifications or magical items. Therefore, they cannot use any spells in the Evocation school, as that scrictly falls under Arcane magick classification, nor can they use magical items to give them such abilities or use any of those abilities stores within the item, itself. However, there is the exception of using an enchanted weapon that would add Sonic (which is Wind, basically) damage to each of her strikes, but wouldn't cause a gust of wind to appear to throw the opponent back or knock them down. However, they can use a knockdown ability in conjunction with the enchanted weapon which would allow for such a combination, but the opponent would still remain in melee range. However, unless this is a premade character, she would have to start out with basic weapons (which can include the Bastard Sword, but just a normal one) and armor, so, therefore, cannot have such an enchantment, yet.

Concerning your goddess, I'd have to look her up, as I don't know anything about her, but, if she follows a Neutral allignment (or appears as if she does) and is appropriate for this roleplay and her race (which I will get to in a moment), then there shouldn't be a problem, but she cannot gain any magical abilities from worshiping that goddess if she is a goddess over any form of magicks other than Divine magicks. If you want to, however, you can convert her to a Druid, which can use Nature magicks, which would include some Sonic abilities, and be adapt at light melee weaponry (and maybe medium--I'd have to go back and look). Other than that, you could be a Bard, but I'm still trying to figure out how to make them without making them too similar to Druids or Rogues.

Your species is fine, but it will still follow the Elf setup, so you can just put down the Elf information, then add a subspecies section into the character setup, which I'll edit in the blank setup.

Alchemy, or, in this particular roleplay, as well as in most of the games, Potion Brewing, is available as a skill to all classes and races, but would not be counted as magic in terms of granting magical abilities or casting spells, with a few exceptions. Most potions are ones that heal wounds, cure poisons and diseases, and grants buffs (enhancements to physical and mental stats). There are some potions, however, that would grant class-specific magical buffs, like a Potion of Death Armor, which would act nearly the same to the spell Death Armor from a Wizard or Sorcerer and would cause any attackers to take damage if they struck the user in melee, but this is a very uncommon exception and cannot be brewed like normal potions.

Your familiars cannot grant you any magical abilities, but can grant some buffs if they are of the right species.

As for your weapon, if you're a Blackguard, sure; I'll just have to add that to the list. If you change to a Druid or something for more magical abilities, then no.

I hope this clarifies most, if not all, of your questions. Please feel free to ask as many as you like so you can create a character that fits the rules and restrictions of this group that is the best to your liking and I will try to answer as many as I can. Thanks for asking instead of just going to create the character with any problems that might contradict the rules and restrictions and cause me to have to deny your character (not saying that you had a lot, but there would have been a few problems there that would've kept me from approving your character, and I mean no offense in any of that).

Rhiannon, I've changed my decision on the addition of the Bastard Sword, as there is already a weapon that resembles close enough to the Bastard Sword called the Broadsword in this roleplay and I would prefer to keep it that way (as I orignially thought of the Bastard Sword, now that I thought about it, and decided to name it the Broadsword, instead) because, even though this is an advanced roleplay and people should be wary that there are very little, if any, restriction on the allowable language in-character, people are not obligated or required to swear in any sessions and may actually be offended by swears (which I will handle, personally, if that issue arises, but would like to avoid causing, myself), so I decided to change the name Bastard Sword to Broadsword, since they both resemble very closely the same weapon, in order to avoid offending anyone before they even get the chance to create a character and start roleplaying or drive them away for their lack of interest or tolerance for mature language. So just post as your weapons Broadswords in stead of Bastard Swords, please. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Rinofthemill | 37 comments no that's no inconvenience i was just under the impression that the broadsword was a two handed weapon as opposed to the...other type of sword which i think is one? but i'm only going off what i remember from Linarda (my charrie in NWN2 MotB)
i guess as my character wasn't going to use a sidearm or shield anyway it's not that important i just always imagined her with a onehanded sword.
i'm not even sure if used in that context it is a swear word, but i appreciate the thought- or appreciate that someone else will appreciate the thought
