I love sagas. That is what this is. Starting in the 1940s and running through the mid eighties, This is the story of Tana, daughter of a rich man's maidservant and mistress. Her father, killed in WWII, never got to see his baby girl grow up or even take her first steps. meanwhile, her mother caves in to her lover's demands and pays no mind how his sons treat her daughter. Tana breaks free at eighteen and goes as far away from her mother as she can get. she arrives at gollege and gets swept up into the action from civil rights to women's marches to the courts of justice. Tana forges her own path with blood sweat and tears bringing the saga full cirlcle on the bench of the halls of justice where she can truly make change happen. I never tire of this story and hope to find it in hardback.
