What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hello all. I am looking for a book I read while in grade school in the mid 80s. I suspect the book was published the the 70s. The protagonist of the book is a young man, who I believe was named Danny. Danny grew up with other kids in a compound.

SPOILERS







As the story progresses, it turns out that there are other Dannys, some younger, some older, being raised in other compounds. Danny was actually Danny 13. At the climax, a much older Danny arrives and inspires the group to revolt. All of the kids in the story were clones of rich people, in various ages, who were being raised for their organs to extend the lifespan of the original.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

On the same theme is _Never Let Me Go_. But yeah, I can't wait till this book is found :D

This one has clones named Daniel,but not YA and published in 2005.

The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer has a good book about clones. I don't recall the meeting of different aged clones, but it is certainly possible I have forgotten some details. I recommend this book.

Maybe A Rag, a Bone and a Hank of Hair by Nicholas Fisk? (originally published 1980)

edit: the main character's name is Brin, though, so maybe not. Here are some other 80s YA books about clones, though none have a MC named Danny.

Anna to the Infinite Power by Mildred Ames (just in case you're misremembering the gender of the MC.)

I had thought maybe Android at Arms--but I was misremembering it as a clone and not an android.

Anna stuck in my memory from way-back-when too, but she's not wanted for her organs (they're just hoping she can think the same genius way), and doesn't particularly lead a revolt or anything.

Thanks so much everyone for the assistance. I don't think any of these possibilities are what I am remembering. Anna to the Infinite Power is a very close guess; in fact, it was after I read that book and enjoyed it that my librarian recommended to me the one I can't remember! I will keep racking my brain and hopefully something will come to mind.

Sounds familiar, like something I might have read between 1979 and 1985 or so. I was thinking possibly one of Alfred Slote's books, maybe Clone Catcher (main character named Dunn; clones made of rich people for organ harvesting) or maybe one in a series involving characters named Jack and Danny One (a robot that looks like Jack) and which might have involved clones (certainly recurrent problems with people and their identical robots). Clone Rebellion by Evelyn Lief is another possibility - also has clones' organs used for rich people. Not much detailed info about these novels online, though.
