1. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I think when my daughter was a newborn. I was standing in the middle of my living room with my son running around me when my first set of characters popped into my head. It was crazy! I didnt finish that book but it was the start to everything.
2. How long does it take you to write a book?
Right around 6 months.
3. What do you think makes a great story?
A to die for love story. It makes my heart happy.
4. What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
I am a overnight nurse for a private company. So I got to work from 12a to 8a. It doesnt change when I'm writing.
5. How do you balance family and writing?
I have no clue. Its crazy how everything works out.
6. Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
I get my ideas from everything around me. My book is my life and a lot of imagination.
7. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
That not everyone will love your characters. I love my peeps but not everyone else does! lol.
8. How many books have you written? Which is your favourite?
3. I just finished Empty Net and I think its my favorite. I hate to say that too because Taking Shots is my baby, but there is something about Tate and Audrey that just grips my heart.
9. Are your characters based on anyone you know?
Yes, everyone I know....lol
10. Do you have a favourite place you love to write?
My couch, but when I get my new office, that will probably be my place!
11. How hard is is to get published?
Very hard, thats why I did it myself.
12. What do your family and friends think about your books?
They are very proud of me. My husband tells everyone that his wife is a hockey romance author. My kids say my books are the best. <3
13. What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Nothing..lol. I like to sleep and read. I am always on the go when I have down time, I go down.
14. Do you have any suggestions to help aspiring writers better themselves and their craft? If so, what are they?
Just do it. Dont hold back, dont think about it, just do it. Its the most amazing feeling when you are done and you have this art infront of you. Its a blessing and I wouldnt have been able to do this if my husband hadnt said Just do it.
15. As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
I wanted to be a Broadway singer.
16. What are your favourite books and which authors inspire you?
Kristin Higgins is my favorite author now but from back in the day, it would be Jane Austin.
17. For an aspiring writer what do you feel are certain do's and don’ts for getting their material published?
Dont over think it, and just believe in yourself.
18. What are you working on now?
I am currently trying to figure out if I am going to write Blue Lines which is the next book in the assassins series or if I want to do a Harper Allen Novella.
