If your anything like me, you have either have a stack of books or a long list on your e-reader of titles you've bought, borrowed, or won that never seem to get read. This "game" is to get you motivated to read them and get that to-read list reduced down to nothing. It also doesn't pressure anyone to read at faster or slower than their own pace, and doesn't fall apart if a buddy "disappears" lol

Okay, here's how this works.

At the beginning of every month you'll get a partner that will pick a book from your designated list for you to read. YOU will also be picking a book for them off of whichever list they decide. You have all month to read it (not too much pressure?) and then let us know what you thought about it and would you recommend it.

Here's a couple things to keep in mind:
1. I can keep a continuous list of people that decide to participate from month-to-month, but if you feel you can't do it for a particular month then just let me know. You can always join again later or drop out if needed.

2. If a person has a series of books on their list (i.e. # 6, 7 and 8), don't be a wise-@ss and pick 8

3. When you tell us what you thought, careful not to give spoilers away!!!

I think that's all I can think of for now, but if you have any questions feel free to ask, comment or suggest any tweaks to the game. And if you want to join then leave a message saying your in and we can start in December!!!

I was debating it, but mind as well, it's much better then wondering in my head what I should read next, now if we have a huge list can someone pick more than one ? Can't wait to see how this works out :D

Kathy Horsman (kathywithak27) | 1340 comments Mod
I guess you could read as many as you want, just let the other person know so they can pick them. I know I got a couple messages back from people, but just make sure you leave a post here so I can have a list of people to pair up!!

I can't believe I'm typing this right now, but Lisa picked Beautiful Disaster for me and I picked up it up 26 hours ago to read it and I'm already finished!!! It was so good I literally could not put it down!!!!! I think it has been one of my favorite books I have read in a LONG time. To give a little review of it:

Abby and Travis are both college kids that start out being complete opposites, one trying to be the sophisticated, mature freshman (Abby), the other being the bad ass, ladies man on campus(Travis). Travis knows what he wants from the second he sees Abby, but she tries to keep things at a friend level.....but fails. The whole book you go through their ebbs and flows, both normal-jealous boyfriend- and extreme-their family histories, struggling to find their Happily Ever After. I'd recommend this book to anybody because it's just a really nice story that has some heart wrenching moments and very surprising twists.

I hope you guys are liking the reads that your partner picked for you and hope to see more posts when people start finishing!!! Thanks Lisa for the pick!!!

I'm SO in this game late, but since January begins tomorrow, I'd love for someone to partner with me, and I with her! My only ask--if I'm permitted to do so--is if to find reads with solid, compelling male lead characters (since I write YA for males). Apart from that, I'm pretty open.

Finishing Personal Effects and looking forward to beginning Beautiful Disaster when done with this. Looks like it scored some good reviews, so it's on my next-to-read (and always growing!) list.

Happy New Year!
