The food is terrible, but it is a place to gather and chat without looking suspicious.

Jaci slipped into the grime covered room, that wasn't the least bit sanitary. The air was hot and steamy, clogging up ones throat and making it hard to breathe. There was no such thing as a lunch line in this cafeteria, for the food that lay deserted in large tin buckets hardly looked like it could be edible. jaci gave the disgusting grub a look and walked by, grabbing a partially rotted banana and a water bottle.
Harmony coughed as soon as she made it into the room. She stared distastefully at the so called food that sat before her as they made their way to a deserted table in the corner. The doctors were posted at the entrance and exit doors, keeping a vigilant eye on the kids. The table next to where they sat, there was a girl, roughly six, complaining about the food as the doctors tried to force feed it to her. Harmony sighed and shook her head at the hateful doctors. "Sometimes I wonder if they even have a heart." she stared at Jaci. quickly pointing a tail (that wasn't there when they sat down) at the doctors. "I have seen them do terrible things, and every time, I ask myself that question. Have you heard about the operation rooms?"
Jaci sat down at the dirty, once-white table and began to peel the yellow fruit that rested in her hands. She looked at the poor little girl next to them, her eyes growing watery as she remembered all the terrible things the doctors had done to her. She listened to Harmony speak and nodded, agreeing with her. Though when the operation room came up, she drew a blank, having no idea what she was talking about. "Op-er-a-ting room?" She said, drawing each syllable out.
"yes" harmony leaned in closer. "the operating room." "Terrible things happen there, It is ten times worse then the little infirmary that you go to every month." Yet again she leaned in closer, their noses were almost touching. "some kids go in there and never come out."
A shudder ran through jaci at her friends words and she thought of all the girls and boys who had suddenly disappeared overnight, the doctors claiming the children had been delivered back into the real world. None of the had any chance to get back to the world of the normals. Im going to die here Jaci thought for a moment, then shook the morbid thought out of her head. "How do you know of this?" She whispered, eyeing the doctor that was close to her.
Her eyes grew distant "I had a friend, Shaunee." she rested her head on her palm "we came here together, But she was taken into the operation room. The first time, she came back with weird bruises and stitches everywhere, the second time, the same. The fifth time..." her head went down. "I know things, Jaci, sometimes too much"
Jaci's eyes grew sad and serious, going from their light sky blue shade to a much darker sapphire, resembling the hue of dark churning waters. Jaci rested a delicate hand gently on Harmony shoulder. "I am truly sorry for your loss." She said, bowing her head for a moment as if to give a moment of silence. She removed her hand and straightened her spine, setting her hands back on her lap. "Have you ever been in this, 'operation room'"? She asked, concerned for her friend.
"yea". she put her head down. "Once" she spun around in her chair showing a long scar running horizontally through the back of her neck.
Suddenly Amanda walked in looking as pale as a ghost. She slumped down on the dirty bench and stared into blank space. Her hands trembled as she reached to tuck a piece of long hair behind her ear. "T-that r-r-room...." she shuddered. Her lips appeared a dark purple, much different that their original pale pink. Her posture was defeated looking and anything but the usual confidence she gave off.
Jaci tried to prepare herself to see the damage the infamous operation room had cause Harmony, but she could not hold back the delicate gasp that left her ruby lips. The jagged scar zigzagged down her neck, the skin around it pink and slightly inflamed. It was obviously not correctly stitched back together, and one might even go to the lengths of assuming the dorctor had been drunk as he stitched the poor girl up. "Oh my, Harmony." Jaci said slowly, her eyes glued to the wound. She turned and saw another hollow looking girl enter the room, the color drained out of her face and her lips a deep plum like color that was anything but healthy. She wondered if this girl had been yet another victim to the doctors of the operation room. "I am quite fortunate to not have been sent there." She said, her eyes solemn and her mouth pulled into a tight line.
"Not yet" Harmony looked grave. "We all have been in that god forsaken place at least once. You might be next. You never know." She looked at the girl that had just collapsed next to them. Harmony had tears in her eyes.
Anastasia shimmered into view in front of Amanda. She too was pale, although not as much as the other girl. Her shyness temporarily forgotten, she spoke frankly to Jaci. "Be glad you don't have to go in there," she told her quietly. "I wasn't even the one they were experimenting on and it was terrible. Is there any tea? I feel like Amanda needs something hot. Maybe something stronger?" She started searching through cabinets, and triumphantly pulled a bottle of Bailey's out of the back of a cupboard. ((haha Bailey see what I did there?)) "Coffee..." she muttered, pulling an old coffeemaker out of the same cupboard. "Here we go." She plugged it in and poured the water and coffee grounds in before returning to sit beside Amanda. "It's alright. We'll be alright."
Amanda slowly reached for the cup but came up short and collapsed on the table, revealing a long dark streak of blood coming from her hairline that soaked her blue T-shirt.
Anastasia hurriedly set the cup on the table and rushed to her friend's side. "Oh my god, Manda, I didn't think it was that deep! You should have told me..." She grabbed some napkins from a drawer and pressed them to her friend's wound. "You're lucky I'm good with blood..."
Amanda winced as the rough material pressed into the wound. She spluttered as she sat up and looked intensely at the other girls, who she knew, she would not let the doctors do to them what they did to her. "Who are these people, and what do they want with us?!" she stammered. Her heart was filled with a new hatred that she was not familiar with. She was not going to let them get away with this, especially since Harmony already had an operation...
Anastasia simply shook her head. "I don't know what they want with us," she said softly. "I don't know why we're here. I just don't know." She picked up the cup of Bailey's and coffee and handed it to her friend. "Here, drink this. It'll do you some good. Restore some energy."
Jaci's mouth formed a "o" as she saw the air begin to s himmer, the faint outline of a human girl slowly beginning to form. No sound left her dark lips as the stranger appeared out of nowhere, what was only a moment before a cloud of fog now a human girl. Although jaci had spent many long years in the asylum, seeing the powers if the other girl still surprised her. The new addition to the room began to speak to her, and she shook her head to clear the shock and surprise so she could hear the girls words. After her comment jaci nodded her head solemnly and sent a quick silent prayer to whoever was up there watching over her.
The injured girl took a sip of the scalding drink. "I swear, I wont let them lay a finger on any of you ever again!!" she oath-ed to her new friends. ((its ok that our charries are friends right? i can change it if not)) she gritted her teeth and tightened her jaw as she spoke the last statement, "or my name isn't Amanda Julien Whitestone..."
(( yea its cool (: ))Jaci smiled a small shy grin, feeling grateful for all the new friends she had made today, more than she had in her entire life. She rolled her cramped shoulders and continued listening, intent and ready to learn all she could about this operation room.
((OK yay! ;)))
"they poked and prodded me for a bit-and-and then--"her voice was caught in her throat but a fresh round of sobs. "I could feel everything...they didn't numb me up--" she sobbed loudly. The horrid sound rang through the packed cafeteria. Heads turned as Amanda tried to calm herself. "Quiet!" Marcus snapped. She had not noticed that he was standing in the doorway. "A-and he-e was th-there too-oo...."
Harmony Glared at Marcus. "it will all be fine, I promise you" she whispered to the sobbing girl. "everyone is safe, I promise" She pat the girls back.
Anastasia whimpered, her temporary bravery in the face of adversity forgotten. She knew Marcus, knew what he had done to Amanda, and he terrified the living daylights out of her. Consciously she knew that Marcus had no idea that she had been there, in that terrible place, but still she was afraid.
"You bet your ass we are." she snarled. She surprised herself, she did not know this type of anger. She shot a boring look at Marcus, this time was easier than the last. Words appeared in her mind this time. "names..." she whispered to the other girls, "he's running through a list of names in his head..."
Harmony continued to comfort the girl, Hoping that none of her friends were going in that horrible room next.
"Whose names?" whispered Anastasia anxiously. "Who? Are they here, the people he's naming?" She sat on the other side of the table from her friend and leaned forward to murmur in her ear, never taking her eyes off the menacing figure in the doorway. "What does he want?"
She glanced back at Marcus for a second, just to be sure. The name appeared in front of here eyes again, but this time, there were names of places as well, she was half through the names when it shut down. "What?!" she exclaimed, "I-i couldn't get through!! It's almost like they knew i would be reading..."
"Block your powers..." Anastasia said quietly, half to herself. "They can do that? What next..."
Harmony started to panic. There would certainly be people going into those operations rooms, but who? and how many? Harmony puzzled quietly.
The figure in the doorway walked to the girls, and peered over their shoulders, "You," he said, pointing to Harmony, "Come with me, NOW!" he screamed when she hesitated. He grabbed the poor girl by the collar of her shirt and shoved her violently towards the door...
Harmony had tears in her eyes. "No!" she cried as she was dragged out of the Cafeteria. The room went silent.
Elizabeth ran in screaming "NO. I WON'T GO BACK IN THERE! NO MORE BLOOD!" she screamed. She stumbled into a table. Mason ran in and grabbed her by her shoulders "Shh, It's alright. Everything is going to be alright" he assured her. Elizabeth shook her head "Can't do it. Too much blood" she cried. Mason hugged her "It's alright. There is no more blood" he pulled back and sat her down in one of the chairs.
A shriek cut through the air, "HARMONY! NO! PLEASE NOT YOU TOO!!"Amanda screeched. "What do you want from us?!?!" she screamed after Marcus. She began to bolt towards the door yelling, "PLEASE!! Someone, help!!"
You could hear Harmony's yells all the way throughout the halls. "LET GO OF ME, PLEASE!" The screams eventually faded as she was dragged out of ears reach, like an animal for slaughter.
Mason looked around. What was going on here?. Elizabeth shook out of his grip "They are in our heads!" she screamed as she raced across the room. Mason sighed heavily and chased after her.
Nova Walked in, looking small compared to the others in the asylum. She walked to the table and beamed. "Hello" her small high- pitched voice rang like chimes in the Cafeteria.
Elizabeth did not realized she was trapped until she found herself trapped in the corner. She shrunk down, pulling her knees to her chest. Mason placed a hand on her shoulder "Please Elizabeth, just trust me. It is going to be fine" Elizabeth jerked away from his touch. "Going to die!" she screamed.
Chester came in after her, "Jesus Nova! Don't run off on me like that!" he looked at the other girls and winked.
Elizabeth ran out from the corner, knocking Mason back. She ran forward almost instantly slamming into someone. She fell back and hit the ground.
'"But Chester!" She Pouted "It is boring in my room!" She stomped her foot. " I just wanted to play!" She sat down at the table.
"I told you. IF something happens to you, I-i dont know what I'll do. You're all i have in this place..." He looked back at the girls, putting on the 'older protective guardian' charm.
Elizabeth was up again before Mason could reach her. Again she slammed into someone. when she fell she bashed her head on the side of a table. She brought a hand to her temple, it came away red. Instant panic flooded her eyes at the sight of the blood.
"fine..." she sighed "can you get me some food?" she rubbed her belly " i am hungry" Suddenly a girl screamed in the corner and ran out. "Help her Chester!" she screamed, pointing at that girl. "She needs help!"
"We don't even know her though! Won't she be a bit creeped out, and plus, what's her problem anyways?" ((are you referring to my charrie jojo?))
"Shit-she's kinda hot..." chester thought to himself. He, too ran up to her, "Dammit! Oh my god are you ok?!" he asked the bleeding girl.
