I loved the book. I believe I read New Spring at the same point in the series. I hope you enjoy the book :)

This is going to be the first time I've read New Spring. I haven't read any of the other Wheel of Time books either, so I'm hoping it gives me a little bit of back story before jumping into the other book.

Not sure if it is a good idea, as it might contain spoilers for the first several books. Can anybody confirm this?

"Even though this book is billed as a prequel to the Wheel of Time series, it only qualifies as a prequel based on the internal time line in the series. It's background and backstory for a couple of major characters in the series (but not the major major characters). I'm not very far into my re-read so I can't confirm any spoilers yet. So far, for the first few chapters, I haven't read anything too spoilery.
The reason I included it here, after The Path of Daggers but before Winter's Heart was based on suggestions from other fans of the Wheel of Time series.
Don't know when or if I'll start this one since I've heard it's not essential to the series. If I do it'll either be in a month when there's lots of time to kill in planes and airports or after the series is over. Otherwise I'd be too afraid of burning myself out on the series at the part where everyone says it's tough to get through.
