I'm in the football challenge but I'm on the sidelines. I chose two teams whose tasks I'm supposed to complete in 5 months. The two teams are the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New England Patriots. I first worked on the Jaguars.
1. Read a book set in Florida.
I read While there eyes were watching God. I may have the title of the book wrong. I will look it up.
2. Official team colors are Teal, Black, White and Gold. Read a book whose cover is primarily one of these colors or a combo of all of them.
I read Alice I Have Been great book.
3. Their logo is a Jafuar found primarily in Mexico and South America. Read a book set in South America or the auther is from South America.
I am going to read The River of Doubt:Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey. Goodreads doesn't seem to have it in the data base.
4. Read a book whose main character's name matches one of these players(first or last) Fred Taylor, Tony Boselli, Jimmy Smith, Maurice-Jones Drew,or Mark Brunell.
I read My ÁntoniaThe main character's name was Jim.
5. Pick a set of initials matching one of the players listed above and read a book whose title includes words that begin with those letters.
I am going to read Tortilla Flat for Fred Taylor.
6.Read any book whose authers initials can be found in Jaguars.
I am reading Nerve it's by Jeanne Ryan.
7.Read a book published in 2012. I am reading Nerveit was published this year.
8.Won a division championship in 1998 and 1999. Read a book published in one of those years.
I will read Vera This was published in 1999 I believe.
I should finish all of these books by December sometime. Unfortunatley I won't finish the Patriots part in one month. I may try to see how many I can finish by the end of January. This has been a fun challenge but I have yet to complete any challenge on time yet. I guess trying them is half the battle.

I picked up the last 3 books that I need to read to finish the Jaguars part of my challenge. I think I will start with The River of Doubt but not until I finish my current readMidnight RisingI'm about halfway finished.

I have just started The River of Doubt. I'm only 19 pages in so far but it seems very interesting.

River of Doubt has been very interesting. Unfortunatly I have been forced to take a break from it as it was a library book. There was a hold put on it and when I checked under the name of the book it seems that it is very popular. All 12 or so copies were on hold with some having a +1 next to them. It seems if I want to finish this book before the end of 2013 I am going to have to purchase it and so I shall. It won't be able to happen until the beginning of 2013 but I will be purchasing The River of Doubt Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey by Candice Millard . Because of this unforseen issue I may not be able to even finish my Jaguars part of the challenge on time. I will, however finish.
I have started Tortilla Flat by John Steinbeck it seems like a quicker read than The River of Doubt Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey by Candice Millard so hopefully I will finish this book within about 7 days.
