Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) I thought it would be cool to have a thread where games or anything not related to writing or our story could go in.

WWYD if Santa Claus was real (not saying he actually is, I'm way past that stage)?

You guys are discussing the reality of SC and and I am watching Polar Express, oh the irony!

message 4: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) If Santa were real I'd have proof - and a chimney.

I have a chimney...Both houses that I've lived in had/have a legit chimney.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I have a gas fireplace and no legit chimney, so if Santa was real how on earth would he get down my "chimney?" Just walk through the door?
It's so un-Santa.

No, my family has never actually believe in Santa. My parents don't get the reasoning behind lying to your children for nine or ten years, and then totally crushing their dreams, ya know?
And I always get a crap ton load of presents:) *evil grin*

Same here! I think it worked out better that way.

message 9: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) Yeah I've always found it an interesting little mythology that's popped up to distract from the real significance of Christmas time. For a lot of merchandising and money making reasons...

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, Santa isn't exactly necessary. I mean, the whole Saint Nicholas story (the real one that doesn't involve elves, reindeer, or the north pole) where a man left presents for children, that's sweet. But there's no need to commercialize it.

MERCHANDISING, TOYS, FOOD - it's all an excuse really... :/

What's that mean?

Definitely.

It means 'I agree with the above!'

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Sweetness:) Usually we have issues agreeing on things.

message 16: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 46 comments But Santa's awesome... Although the lying to your children thing is stupid, I'll admit that...

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Santa just seems a little ridiculous to me, is all. Kids almost never believe in the Easter Bunny-who is equally as ridiculous as Santa-but somehow Santa Claus is real. I mean, come on! Magical reindeer? That's not a tad crazy?

It would be so fun to go into a class of first graders, and tell them all Santa isn't real.

But then they would all cry...

You don't need your childhood ruined when your seven though...

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Seriously! First graders are so cute and innocent...when I was seven I told my Santa-believing cousin that he [Santa] wasn't real. She started sobbing and we haven't really talked since, even though we're both teens now.
I think she still holds it against me.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Santa is real and we are all his elves. Think about it:)

I'm just joking; I probably woudn't do it.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

The Mighty Katara wrote: "Well, that's ridiculous. If you were only seven years old, you were probably just stating it as fact. She shouldn't still be upset about that."

Well, she's the really moody type, so it's more her finding an excuse to be angry at the world.

We know you wouldn't, Danny:)

You'd get what I mean if you met her. think heavy metal listening, goth dressing, angry person. That's my cousin.
And she used to be so...girly when she was little too...I guess that's was high school does to ya.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, it seems that way.
