Michael We're reading The Lion of Tiberias for December 2012. It's available in a number of books other than Conan's Brethren, and also online here: The Lion of Tiberias.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 550 comments I remember when I first read this in The Sowers of the Thunder back in the 70's. The other 3 stories in that book are just as good. Fantastic!

I love the way Howard spins the two tales together. I'd say more, but can't really without making a spoiler. Later.

Vincent Darlage | 916 comments It's also available in Sword Woman and Other Historical Adventures. I thought this story was particularly memorable because the villain (Zenghi) is much more interesting than the hero (Sir Miles). I had to look up Zenghi after I read this story and find out about the historical person behind this character: Imad ad-Din Zengi.

This is one of REH's strongest historicals, IMHO. Also, Jim is right: "Sowers of the Thunder" is a good mate for this tale.
