I would like to increase my level of proficiency in certain areas like (and possibly other):

- HTML5 + CSS3
- jQuery
- Windows Server 2003? 2008? 2012?
- Perl + Perl testing
- Databases

So far, I've looked up a number of books that interest me:

- jQuery in Action
- jQuery Cookbook
- CSS: The Definitive Guide
- Perl Testing: A Developer's Notebook
- Higher-Order Perl: Transforming Programs with Programs
- Seven Databases in Seven Weeks: A Guide to Modern
Databases and the NoSQL Movement

I'm not sure about which book to get for Windows Server. I would like to learn more about Windows Server (2003? 2008? 2012) in order to provide better support (e.g. permissions, job scheduling, services, WMI), but without going into too much depth into things I will never end-up using.

If you have other recommendations, or have comments about my selections, or think I should be looking into additional areas of expertise, please let me know.

I have jQuery Cookbook, CSS: TDG at home. I'll bring them at work so that you can look at it. I recommend them both.

The Perl Testing book is in the QA bull pen. I also recommend quite highly.
